Okay, so the bracket is for the power steering.
What about that double-ended bolt on the alternator bracket? >.> What's that for? What do I do with it?

I'll make a grilled cheese! :D

So last night was a bummer. Didn't get any work done for two reasons.
I think I lost one of screws for the MAP sensor.
Ordered some new ones from the dealer, but they may not be here until Friday/Monday.
I have one screw...is that enough to hold the sensor on until I get another screw?

Also, I purchased a new throw-out bearing. But Oreilly gave me the wrong part. I didn't realize until I had it installed. So I went to the dealer and they gave me the same part Oreilly gave me.

When I asked him to look again, he came back with the correct bearing and said that means I have a late model 05 O.o
Is that BS? I thought all SRT throw-out bearings are the same. He said his computer was showing a split part number or something like that. Maybe he was just trying to cover his ass or something :P

Anyways, bearing on the left is Oreilly/1st dealer attempt. Middle is original bearing. Right is new bearing.

So i'm ready to rock and roll tonight. Father said he's going to clean my transmission up for me in the meantime. It's oxidized and gross from Kentucky weather. He's got a few cans of black engine enamel he wants to put to good use >:3

Alright, that's what I thought.
Weird that both Oreilly's and the dealer got it wrong when I specifically said Neon 2.4/SRT

^^^ In New Orleans, only the Dodge dealers' mechanics (technicians) understand how different the SRT-4 is from a normal Neon.

mechanics or technicians? there's a difference and personally i don't like to be called a technician. tech to bitch work like tires and oil changes and piddly jobs. a mechanic knows how to properly diagnose what is incorrect with a vehicle. /rant

I'll have to do something like that. I don't think it'll be a huge deal if i'm missing on screw for a day.

Docking successful!

Now...I read somewhere that you never want to turn the crank counterclockwise...

But...what if I did? O:
When I torqued the driveplate to the crank, I moved the crank 3/4 to a full turn clockwise...which is actually counterclockwise for the engine >.<
Should I be worried about anything? :(

Not sure if this is right. But until someone else chimes in, i think you can possibly bend a valve.

id check your timing/components just to make sure you didnt throw anything off.

the motor is NON interfferance so your vavles and pistons didnt get intimate with one another, but the timing could be off or tension could be lost

lookin good though bro  mine should be runnin once my stage 1 gets here so we'll have to meet up and cruise

Duuuuuude. I want a Stage 1 :(
Wait, if you're getting a Stage 1...that means you're car is running. :D

Image
Was definitely easier to take it out :P
My BWoody mounts didn't want to play nice. But after a little muscle I got 'em to cooperate.

Only I could do something like this.
Image
I somehow managed to cross-thread my pulley bolt. Someone told me that I can put the pulley back on by using just the bolt. Obviously that person is an asshole.

Thankfully the crank is going to be alright. I lost a few threads, but there are still plenty left that it shouldn't be an issue. It's cleaned up and ready for a new bolt!

Hopefully the dealer will have one in stock.
I really wanna get Serenity running by Sunday.

Your car is an '05; It'd be a waste. Did you check to make sure your timing was correct? Your pistons won't kiss valves, but your valves will certainly not be friendly with each other.

04 and 05 already have the stage 1 injectors. You only get the ECU upgrades with stage 1 on 04 and 05.

I wouldn't call an S1 PCM a waste by any means. Even though you have the injectors it makes a great base to tune off of when you have a DSP or Trinity or similar device. It also allows you to run catless and prevents the codes for it. They're good to have IMO...I love mine.

Yes PCM's can be re-flashed for VINS and re-skimmed by dealers utilizing the DRB-III.
