Summer Meet 2012 feeler thread

I enjoy feeeeeeeling threads...

Hey everybody,

Since I will not be making an appearance this year at Carlisle (sadface), and we have yet to have any meets other than our Fall Meet, I'm just gonna put it out there that we should have a Summer Meet this year. Date and location would be figured out if there was enough interest, and obviously I wouldn't put it near the Carlisle dates so people don't have to worry about that.

Same as our Fall Meet: 1 day meet & greet with a picnic and photoshoot. Anyone interested?

You guys aren't even in the New England region. Where's a mod when you need them?

Carlisle is not in the cards for me this year; budget doesn't allow for it, unfortunately. This is the best I can do this year.

Im Carlisle bound ... not bad for a noob ... joined the site 8 months ago and Im already signed up for it ... lol.

But I am up for as many local ones as we can do ... what area are you thinking ?

I'm thinking MA or RI as it puts most of our members within range, and even some people from SRTforums. I love Colt State Park in RI so that's always a possibility.

There's Buffumville Damn also. I will try to get over there this weekend and snap a few pics of the area. I can post them as a suggestion. Big paved parking lot, lake beach for the kids to play (would be people there also), picnic tables and grills, hiking trail in the woods for those interested, fishing, and its $1 per person or $3 for a car load.

So I mention Buffumville Lake area ... if you guys are up for it.

This is coming thru the gate into the parking lot.

This is the far left of the parking lot near a couple pavilions. Yhe first picture was taken at the far right side of this picture.

This picture is stright down the row of cars from the picture above.

This picture is of one area where they have picnic tables and grills

They have a pavilion to rent ($50) for the day. Its right near the parking lot. It has 3 or 4 picnic tables and a big grill. They have 2 Sundays left open that are not reserved before Carlisle (because we all know Crystal can only come on Sundays). June 3 or July 1.

I would be willing to do the July 1 and pay for the rental ... if others will be willing to bring the charcoal, lighter fluid, lighter, soda or water or juice, and food.

There is also a beach for the kids to play on (no life guard on duty). The kids can also go fishing too ... or just tie them to a tree ... what ever works.

Sorry guys (and gal), I've been rather busy lately. Summer doesn't officially begin until June 20th, and Carlisle is nearly directly after that (unless people don't care). I was thinking mid-July.
