Weird, Slow Problem

I use the Mozilla FireFox (latest version) with the 'FasterFox' mod which is supposed to help speed page loading, etc. and it displays the amount of time taken to load the page... Since last night, 2GN.org has been acting quite weird and it's doing this to me in both IE & FireFox - When I click to go to another page, the forum is waiting until the 10sec mark before the page even changes or loads. It does this about 94% of the time. Like for instance - This page that I just loaded took 12.875 seconds to load. The last page - 11.265 seconds. It's only doing it to 2GN, so I thought maybe this is an issue with the server or the forums... Like some kind of bandwidth control? It's never happened before and it gets frustrating when you're browsing the forums and you have to wait 10 seconds before the page even begins to load. I tried resetting my IP address and it's still doing it... So I guess what I'm trying to figure out is... Anybody else having this problem?

It's happened to me too. I use firefox as well

It takes like 10 seconds, then the page loads really fast.

It is doing it to me to..takes 10 seconds or more to load, or does not load at all.

Exactly... Almost like there's a delay.

I haven't had a problem with anything not loading... It's just waiting 10 seconds...

i have had all the problems mentioned above... parts wont load, goes slow, doesnt load at all sometimes...

I'm noticing it as well. I contacted the host and they are looking into it. I haven't made any changes to the forum besides upgrading the forum software but that was a few days ago. Seems like it started sometime during the night but I can't say exactly when as I've had my computer down for most of today and all of last night tearing down my desk.

same deal with me, i also use firefox. its quite annoying hope this prob is solved soon. ive had to look at only 3 or 4 posts cuz i dont have the patience/time to wait for each page to load (like 10-15 secs easy). no idea what it could be jason? hmm

I'm having the same problem. It's taking a really long time to load between pages and it is only happening with 2gn.org. Also, I have to log in everytime I come to the page eventhough I'm checking the box that remembers my username and password. And when I do log in, none of the topics are highlighted blue anymore, like no one has replied to a topic in the last 48 hours. Anyone else having this issue?

Some people were having this same problem a couple weeks ago. I'm not sure what they did to fix the issue, though. There's another thread under Board Problems / Feedback about it though where they were asking about it.

They gave me some ideas to try for speeding it up so when I have my computer setup later today or tomorrow I'll be able to work on a solution for the problem.

Sorry about this everyone... I wish I knew a strait fix to the problem

I thought they hosted this site for you... Don't they have a tech team that works on things? I'd be pissed.

Yeah they're looking at it suggesting things to me. They say that for the main page www.2gn.org the tracert looks normal but for the forum subdomain it appears slower. One suggestion they made was to edit my HTACCESS file I have setup to block some bots that crawl the forum. I just can't do it right now from this computer

I should be back up later today once I have my room painted and cleaned up.

Be warned though some of the IPs had blocked (only 6) where search bots that crawl the site for search engines. Before they were really slowing the forum down so I dunno how it'll act now in a few hours when they start crawling it again

i had a little thing where it wouldnt load the site a lot today. i had it happen on a couple different computers at school and at home.
