Stock r/t springs on a srt

Post by wickedneonrt » Mon Jul 16, 2012 6:20 pm

is it physically possible? I know the struts are different .
I know your probably thinking this is counter productive but the reasoning is i have r/t springs laying here from my 01 and we got a 04 srt4 with some cheap jap crap springs and bottomed out suspension. Cant afford to do a set of stock springs or aftermarket right now so just to help from bottoming i'm wondering if the r/t springs will physically fit on the srt struts at least temp even if i look like a awd subaru wheel gap.
Thanks for any quick responses gang. I searched for hours.

I don't see why they wouldn't work for a temporary band-aid. Yeah, it might ride a bit higher, at least in the rear... Not sure about the front, as the added weight of the engine/transaxle may balance things out.

But your alignment might be skewed a bit. you may want to consider added tire wear or cost of an alignment into what the springs might save you over stock replacements.

I'm sure i've read this before...

All 2gn springs & struts are fully interchangeable

SRT Springs on Regular Struts = 0.5" drop
Regular Springs on SRT Struts = 0.5" raise

Yep, they all fit, even 1gn springs. The struts/spring rates are the main differences.

R/t spring in the front, and SE in the rear would be better, but you have what you have.

I have read the newer SXT non anti sway rear springs are stiffer to compensate. FWIW.

Well its done. It does work and as stated front is up about 3 inches over wheel. Its not pretty but it works for temp. Springs are interchangable

Well there wasn't much question if they would fit, it was more of a how is the stance going to look? type thing.

Got pics?

oh that pics been old for a minute

:laughing3:

ill post in the morning. Its horrid looking but since both front struts were blown and these progress/tein springs were ridiculous i'd rather have the 4x4 til i get the eibachs other then the car scraping the fenders. I just did the front cause the rears havent blown yet
