stock intercooloer
so i'm going to remove my bfic and install stock. i feel the big intercooler is making me lose spoolup time on a stock turbo
How can you loose spool up if the exhaust side is what spools up the turbo?
the only thing I could think a bigger inter cooler could do is lower boost number by having greater surface area for the air to flow into.

one would think that since it has more surface area for air to flow into.
But this is all theory.
Im not a thermal dynamics engineer, I'm Just a simple mechanic.
I would go back stock and wait to go with a bigger turbo to use the bigger inter cooler.
If anyone thinks I'm wrong, please tell me. The only turbos I know really well are on diesel trucks.
Not much experience with turbo gas cars.

The volume of pressurized air vs. the time to fill it is very little. You will lose much more on top than you will gain in spool time.

Yeah it sounds to me like your spool issue is something else. But like it was also said, give it a shot. If you don't really see a noticeable difference, then switch back and enjoy superior cooling. Are you on stock exhaust?
