Mine's 10.5 gallons from when the gas light comes on. I always refill if the light comes on. Never gotten it to blink before because i'm not stupid and walking to a gas station.

Hey all, I'm really pleased we aint fallin out about this whole MPG thing. I don't drive like a total wad all the time, I actually have some great fun kicking it out over 6000 rpm and watching my fuel needle drop like a brick! The wife gets well upset though!

I noticed I did cock up on one of my math though, current UK to US Dollar rate is about 1 pound to 1 dollar 48c, therefore that puts our gas at around about 1 dollar 25c a litre? so double the price per litre I mentioned earlier.

Me thinks gas is a helluva lot more expensive here in the UK than in the US!

Oh, and I've only had to wak to a gas station once! (that still makes me stupid though!)

Well, if my engine is running I am guessing that fuel is flowing and therefore available to "cool the fuel pump." (if indeed it needs cooling by fuel)..

Fuel Pump Failure
The fuel pump should last the life of the vehicle, but it may fail as a result of contamination inside the fuel tank (dirt or rust), fuel starvation (running out of gas), overheating (always driving with a low fuel level), low voltage (wiring problem), or overwork (trying to overcome a restriction caused by a plugged fuel filter). The harder a pump works, the hotter it runs and the more amps it pulls through its power circuit.

Do not drive with the fuel gauge on "E." An empty fuel tank will hinder the cooling of the fuel pump, since the fuel is used to cool the system.

Seriously, having read the links, I probably won't now run below a 1/4 tank in the future - I like my R/T and yes, replacement parts can be expensive (especially over here).

I mostly drive on the highway (work), I get about 310-330 miles on a tank.

It's listed as a 12.5 gallon capacity tank, but you can squeeze in 12.8 on a completely empty tank. I've gone 28 miles on the flashing fuel light, didn't want to push it past that.

I measured my mileage last month and got 31mpg with mostly city driving. That includes spirited driving and many 1st/2nd gear wot pulls, you know just everyday driving.

It's really interesting.. the first quarter tank I always stay between 100-120 miles. Then 2nd quarter tank is at best 70-80 miles. And the last half a tank is another 100-120 miles. lol -.-

I just had my cam seal, oil switch, valve cover gasket set, oil pan gasket, and pvc replaced plus an oil change with 5w-30 royal purple + oil filter with Mobile 1 (O'Reilly's didn't sell any penzoil oil filters) and CAI installed this weekend.

So tonight when I fill up my tank I'm going to re-calculate my mpg again.

I've never had the light blink on me but recently my wife has been getting 29-30 mpg HWY. the car doesn't see much city driving anymore for now. Also the car hasn't had a tuneup yet. I'm hoping to add another mile or two per gallon once done. Car also has 93k on her as of now.

Thread resurrection!

I'm now getting 42 mpg with my atx transmission. You may think I'm full of it, but my commute has changed drastically. Before, I was driving 11 miles in city traffic with stop lights and stop signs. I now commute 40 miles (one way) on rural back roads (no stops) with an average speed of 50 mph. I'm doing 45 mph for a majority of the drive which is right after the torque converter locks up.

Just thought i'd share because I thought I'd never do better than 33 mpg. I wonder how good it would be with a T-350 or even a T-850?

I'm stock right now, but i'm looking forward to seeing what a tune will do. Some people claim to get over 30 mpg...but I barely saw 30 on one trip to LA.

Yeah, it will begin flashing at some point. I have only got it to do it when I had the sender wire cut, doing some experimenting. I used a variable resistor to make it flash.

Yes I've been using for a almost 2 years now over 21,000 miles my avg is 27.3. (2004 R/T)

According to my road trip app, I'm averaging 32.9USMPG currently. Last fill was 31.3.

2003 Sport, 5 speed, Winter Blend gas in Canada on snows.

I'm averaging about 27. When I first switched to 89 last year from 87, I was getting 33 consistently for a few months... then it dropped. Have no idea why. But I drive 25 miles, highway, one way to work.

I havent gotten to figure mine out yet but i sit in stop and go traffic 2x a day. a 27 miles commute which is minimum 45 min and could be 1.5 hours+ so i gotta be on the low end of the overall mpg.

a few more tanks and ill report how much i averaged over like 2,000 miles of NYC driving

Im bad at math.

Lets say you start out with a full tank of gas and have zero miles on your odometer.

then you drive far enough that you end up putting lets say 85 gallons of fuel in your car and your tank is now full again.

if you have travel 2000 miles, do you have to minus the fuel thats in the tank from the last fill up from the equation because you havent used it yet? or is that the same as start with zero gas , iflling it up and going back to zero?

im so glad they made math class requirements more strict the year AFTER i graduated

I average 29 mpg. I usually get about 33 on long trips.
In the winter it drops down to about 21 avg. No clue why.
