The FS mod: It is the last mod it will see from you.

Selling a car you have worked on and loved is hard...especially when you know every last inch of it. You don't need a CEL because any smell, sound, or judder that isn't quite right has you pulling over to investigate. It is almost like you are selling a piece of yourself. Best you can hope for is it goes on to a good home and will be loved and treated well.

Good Luck with the sale

A little update I suppose is in order. I apologize as I haven't been on in a while. Lost my job at the Subaru dealership a couple of days after the last post and was unemployed for a couple of weeks. that sucked :owned: however, good news is I got hired as a manager at a local Autozone a couple of weeks ago, and although I have been part time till now I found out today I will be full time starting next week which, is awesome  unfortunately hitting broke as a charlie sheen joke put selling the car on hold however, now that I am starting to get back on my feet I figured I should post what I have been up to on the car.

I pulled the HID kit out of the car and installed some new Sylvania Xtravision bulbs in the new raccoon headlights on the car and new 3057LL oranges for the turn signals. I pulled the EGay cheapo LEDs out of the dash cluster and swapped over to the superbrightled 5 LED cool white 194 bulbs (MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!) Repainted the A,B, and C pillars with fresh rustolem plastics gloss black and some super glossy clear. Detailed the interior.

Passenger side rear wheel cylinder went out a few days ago and caused the shoe to drag a bit so I went ahead and took the opportunity to replace the entire rear brake system on the car. She is now happily sporting brand new drums, shoes, springs and hardware (both sides), and new wheel cylinders on both sides.

Tomorrow I will be cleaning her lung out with some seafoam, motor flush, new plugs, new belts (both alternator and Accessory belt), New mobil oil filter, and mobile 1 5w30. She should be purring like a kitten

Next paycheck will come 2 new tires so I can get her on all four matching snowflakes again, new wiper blades for winter, new floor mats all the way around (trust me even the swapped ones I found still have seen better days :/ ) and a new cone filter for the cold air intake.

The car is almost ready for sale and although I am gonna hate to see her go I cant put my hands on the new Neon till this one is gone. I am hoping someone on here might be able to give her a new home and show this little skittle some love

I will get some pics up in the next couple of days. Thanks for the support guys and if any of you have an interest in the car feel free to PM.

EXPECT A POST IN THE FS SECTION IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS

Well it took more than a few days lol but I wanted to let everyone know what I have been up to and where the car is at. This week I replaced both belts on the motor. The old ones didn't actually look too bad but figured I would replace em anyways. I swapped out the silly blue LED bulbs I had put into the turn signal spots in the cluster and swapped em with some OEM stock bulbs. Fixed a few small wiring issues with the passenger window switch. Got the A pillars back in and made some arrangements to get a set of low millage strut assemblies complete with all the fixings. Put some new wiper blades on for winter, and just a few small things here and there. Tomorrow I will be swapping the seats and putting in some slate SXT seats but the big news is.........

THE CAR IS NOW OFFICIALLY FOR SALE

Thanks to everyone for all the support and advice on this car. Can't wait to find her a new home and get to work on the New 03 SXT!

Well as promised my little blue happily found herself a new home today. It was awesome to see her go to someone so thrilled about owning another neon and the Husband is an auto body specialist so hopefully she will get back in shape and look pretty snazzy here soon. They said they would check the forum out and possibly even sign up so, good stuff there. It was sad to see her go still. I will miss the little girl but, the good news is I now own a new 2gn and Im back harder and even faster this time. Keep posted.....big things are happening lol

The 2003 SXT

Well guys, you waited patiently so here we go. This is my new skittle she is an 03 SXT sporting a ported magnum head with a comp 400 on the inside, a gasket matched mag intake with working butterflys through a MSD window switch. She breaths with the help of a AEM cold air intake, OBX longtube header, magnaflow high flow cat and vibrant dual exit muffler. She is currently sitting on Nitto winter rubber strapped to the OEM rims for now. Those shoes are kept in constant contact to the ground with the help of BC Racing BR coilovers for the 03-05 SRT 4, a set of adjustable Hotchkis sways, and Prothane poly bushings the whole way through. There are some other small things like the AEM adjustable cam gear, MPx underdrive pulley, Ganetelli wires and coil, AGP dogbone solid motor mounts, and the Hurst shifter, and for comfort and support I saved the SRT front seats from my old 02  ...............nothing special here lol.

NOW ONTO THE PICS!!!

Well that is all I got for now guys. She will need some work but, I do believe we are heading in the right direction. Paint will need to happen at some point but, for right now I am just happy to have all these awesome mods already and NO BODY DAMAGE! Let me know what you guys think.

p.s. A HUGE THANKS TO JEROME ADAMS FOR BEING AN AWESOME FRIEND AND SELLING ME HIS NEON

Thanks man, and you got it. All about the go but, I have been playing around with the idea of throwing some tint and a new front bumper on it and just plasti dipping the whole car flat black. I will for sure get a video up of running this thing down the freeway. 2nd gear pulls from 20 to 75MPH are a whole lot of fun and the comp 400 and a decent ported mag head help accomplish that

Also, a ton of people have asked me why I sold my neon to buy a neon and I have been telling em that I wanted to use THIS car for the platform to build off of. what am I building you might ask......
well I will give you a clue, I will need to use this

Thanks man, I actually might hit you up from time to time if it's cool. the 02 was pre NGC so from what I understand MS setup is a tiny bit different and since it seems you were quite successful @260ish WHP using similar components as I have on my build list I might ask to pick your brain a little. Thanks for commenting

looks good and clean. think you might need rear and side skirts though. And once it painted do the black strips in the center of the grill like abarguy (viewtopic.php?t=60789&highlight= ) other than that it is a good platform to start with.

Thanks man. Definitely gonna do a front and rear lip kit, and wanna run srt side skirts and door caps. considering a srt rear end instead of the rear lip but all depends on the budget and what I can find. Decided against flat black dip instead decided a few months back I was gonna do white instead. Talked with Dvon17 who was cool with me stealing his color and grill combination. viewtopic.php?t=65949

Cleaned the car today for the first time in months (lol) projects for the next month will be fix and repin the MFS connector (melted on me causing some *unique* power problems) fixing the rats nest window switch intake wiring, and then some small leaks and new sway bar bushings and then we can start the fun stuff. Stay tuned

Update Time!!

So been super busy with work and everything but finally getting some time to get back to my skittle. So heres some pics of what I have been up to.

Finally got the Rota and dunlop wheels and tires on, and took the car into work to do an oil change and a little cleaning underneath. pretty happy with how clean everything is. A little mud and dirt left, but officially grime free

Alrighty guys, long time since an update so here is what I have been up to. Got some free time and started addressing a few small things. First off was replacing little odds and ends like the caps for the car seat anchors in the rear deck, replaced a broken sun visor clip on the drivers side, got a fuel injector cover and studs and, installed a inline FM modulator so I could use my phone for Mp3s while keeping the stock deck. I installed some new high HP gaining mods like these 30+ horsepower stickers....Then I got to the fun stuff.

Image
Image

My AC compressor went out a long long time ago so, since I didn't need it I figured why keep it around? Pics tell the story from here.

Will be getting a AC delete bezel and controls within a week so that I can keep a stock "non AC car" look. Im talking to a few guys on here about it now so hopefully that will be in within the next few weeks..

I got into a little bit of an embarrassing situation a week ago reversing out of a very uneven driveway, needless to say I was unhappy lol Luckily for me, I posses the most legit autobody skills the world has ever seen! I pulled out the professional tool praised by all experts and well,....just look.

Once I got all that squared away I got a call from a good friend who "talked me into" a new Corbeau seat on SRT rails. After much twisting of my arm and forcing of the seat on me I finally installed
it..3 minutes later. lol

Image
Image

Finally got around to giving her a good bath at work (carwash) so I took some HDR pics to show her off all pretty like.

Well guys that's it for this update. THERE IS SOO MUCH MORE TO DO but, time and finances don't allow much right now. Next on the list is going to be clutch and pedal pivot upgrade. I want to get another maddog 52% shifter and some johnny mopar cradle bushings with new boogers. I want to remove power steering but also want to do it right and use a 1gn or early 2gn manual steering rack with a slightly tighter turning radius. once that is all done I will start focusing on the exterior which I plan to plasti dip (full car)
THEN.......we can start thinking boost! Give me some feedback and let me know what you guys think, and thank you for looking!

Thanks bro the The AC removal is actually pretty damn easy, it took me about an hour by myself to pull everything but the cooler (its part of the radiator :/ ) out. Im actually going to be making a HOW TO on AC removal for everyone her in the next couple of days to a week. Thanks for the feedback and keep an eye on the how to section for that. The belt you need is the one pictured.

edit: actually that is the opposite of the sticky stuff, its the metal under the paint that was exposed when the sticky stuff came off with the door trim...and the paint attached to it. :/
