you should have some kind of warrenty on that motor I am sure If you have a bill. My brother had Pat build the 2.4L stratus block had have had no problems at all. Also I had my dads friend Howie at R&B Automotive in Oakville install an machine a new ported head an ARP head studs plus get the turbo rebuilt . He is a very well known machinist in the drag racing in around Ontario has done many motors from Austin Martins to Chev to Dodge to Hondas... he built the motor that broke the fastest import in Canada. If you do plan to get the motor rebuilt by a repable guy let me know an I can hook you up. My dad just had his 383 SBC built by him an the workmanship is top knoch. I think it is cheaper to rebuild your motor then go out an buy a new car at this point with all the money you have spent already......let me know an good luck
blew on the 2nd passCanaNeon wrote:Dude, that is bogus, did you at least get to run a couple passes in it?
Decided to turn up the boost at the track on saturday. 1st run was 30% (tru boost) and it hit 13lbs, then went to 50% and hit 21lbsCanaNeon wrote:r/tguy02 wrote:how did it spike 21lbs anyway? thought the wastegate spring was only like 7lbs?
I'm done with my car, it needs TOO MUCH work at this point. Body is rough all around, which I was fine with as long as it was boosted. but now that I have to do another motor swap after spending more money on another bottom end it's just not worth it anymore. Plus I would still need another trani to add to it all.eviltucson wrote:If you do plan to get the motor rebuilt by a repable guy let me know an I can hook you up. Did you see the nice hole in my block? I'd have to:
- pick up a new bottom end
- have it bored out
- new rod
- have it all put together
- swap it in
Once the car is running I'd get to deal with the body. Fucked up bumpers, shitty paint, rust, etc. OH WAIT IT GETS BETTER! Come October when I need to go for etest, I'd have to go through the bullshit to get it to pass.
TBH I should have just picked up an SRT instead, just like everyone told me to. You live and you learn
