Have to swap the hydraulic to wire and throw it in. Would be interesting, if there will be a huge difference.

Hope it will work and bring a maybe minimal but hopefully noticable positive effect :D

Next is to get the engine and trany out one of our donors and then swap the bellhousing to the PT Cruisers transmission (hydraulic/ cable clutch) and install it on my LE

Domestics never got amber front turn lenses, IIRC. Thus why Ian wants them.

Puh - am back home again after finishing all the trouble to get my latest find here.
It's a 2002 LE with mtx and... 1.6 l engine - 126.000 km
Unfortunatelly the clutch isn 't working.
No chance to shift any gear while engine is running.
I guess mastercylinder or something.

I wish I could get a 1.6 in a 1gn for MPG reasons. If I'm not mistaken, that is almost the same as the Mini motor, so a supercharger could nestle nicely into there.

I wouldn't mind a 1.8, but they're a de-bored 2.0, so a lower RPM motor than stock (for us).

Yes - it should be the Mini-Motor.
That's a point I liked to discover.
Or at least what all is similar to 2.0 on that neon and what not.

And true - the bushings are gone

But anyway it is possible to shift when engine isn't running.

Have been looking for the slave cylinder, present but pretty wet at the tranyhousing

ive had a clutch go bad and cause it to not shift when running was not the slave or master i replaced both which was more cost than a new clutch but that was warrantied luckily and i wonder if the exhaust on that is the same as a single cam 2.0 or maybe the mini or something that you can get a turbo mani for it cause it could be a really good high mpg car with a small turbo like all these new turbo 1.4 or 1.6 motors

will see -hope it´s really just the slave :D

Maybe you have a site similar to us - which is called www.spritmonitor.de

Here we see that usually the 1st gen have the best mpg, followed by 2nd 1.6 and 2.0

Surely it depends on how you drive, so you find a lot of 2nd 2.0 together on top of the list. But I believe - as I can truly tell for my own behavior and the different 2nd-gens I ride - that all the guys with a very good mpg on a 2nd gen 2.0 won´t drive that fast.

Normal usage 1st is best.

Here are some pictures from the 1.6 bottom

Please send the power folding mirrors, the door switch for them and all of their wiring harnesses to me.

Seriously- nice find! Is it for parts or are you going to swap RHD for LHD to drive there in Germany?

The best is, I am allowed to drive it rhd here in germany. They don't care :D

I was especially interested in a rhd neon and a RT as well. So I have both in one

Since I got the RT I let the engine run a little sometimes, not at least to see what's wrong with it.
Actually it is not registered yet, so I am not allowed to test drive it outside my garden.

Dan said it is not running very good esp. when cold outside.

Some weeks ago I got a P0172 and read about some reasons.
So at first I swapped the upper O2-sensor and for some "let the engine run 5 minutes" it seemed to be fixed.

Yesterday it came back and I thought about some more testings.
First I tried the "butterfly"-motor and found it stucked.
Luckily I had an functioning intake laying around and swapped the motor.
So now the code is away again. I hope it had been that.
Seems the butterfly's stayed open all the time.

Anyone experienced that?
And... has anyone here been successfully overhauling that motor?
I opened it and found little magnetic metall grease which might cause the stucking.
A buddy here said that he had done it short time ago.
I hope to get some more details from him.

Will post some pictures later.
