Trunk Lid Plug

So im currently working on a custom led third brake light and i realized that there is a plug coming out of the bunch of wires.

just curious what purpose does the grey plug serve?

Most likely, it is for the power trunk latch option.

Not having a full pic of the latch only led to guessing.

It's tough to see the exact wire colors in that pic.
One appears to be black, the other?

Possibly if you posted those, we could possibly match them to a wire diagram. Color and tracer color.

MY guess would be the sensor for the alarm? however i think there is another wire that can possibly go there too

So I took some more pics... There not the best quality since I used my 'dumb' phone but they should be good enough. The one shows where exactly it is... One wire is black and the other is purple/yellow

Hhhmm... i'm curious now. Don't think i have that on my 01. Unless someone checks before me i have a 01 factory manual at home i can check after i get get home from work.

Security sensor? As in the factory alarm? Does my SRT have this? **goes to check**

You will most likely have the plug but idk about an activated alarm. the sensors can be snagged at the jy i got mine for free but i have yet to get my alarm activated. have a hood pin too but i cant find the plug for that one

Meh, I'd have to remove the trunklid carpet and I'm too lazy. I still want the factory alarm (EVC II- wasn't it called that? I'm at work so I don't have any brochures to check). :banghead:
