srt turbo setup on a 2.0

Post by 01NeOnEs » Sat Jul 01, 2006 3:57 pm

i might be getting a turbo setup from a srt. i was wondering if the following will work on the neon 2.0: turbo, manifold, injectors, intercooler, and intercooler piping. if so what all would i need to complete the srt setup.

It does work, put you will need alot more parts than just injectors and turbo parts.

if its your daily driver DO NOT use MS... turboing is already pushing it... ms your gonna spend all your free time on it and might miss work from it not running in a worst case scenario... so if its your daily i recommend stay away from ms lol

But this isn't only a problem with MS. Any standalone or piggyback is gonna have a potential for downtime, like any other major or minor mod. The trick is to install the MS or whatever in a way that allows you to plug back into the stock computer easily. Just remember, MS can be as reliable or more so than any other standalone or piggy back computer. Tuning it isn't much different than the big boys boxes. I think people don't seem to understand you can buy pre-built MS's setup for the neon for a few hundred more than building it yourself if you are worried about the hardware side of things. MegaSquirt FTW.

hmmm simple turbo on a 2.0L

Post by SiberianNeon0 » Mon Jul 03, 2006 11:13 pm

Wow seems complex...I wanted to turbo mine but nothing too extreme...I figured I'd need turbo headers and the aluminum intake and the basics (turbocharger, intercooler and pipes...) but wow...I don't want to kill my car...

Do you research. there are plenty of posts on here to get all the info you need. Go read through my past posts. I did the SRT setup and I did it well. It has ran reliable for umm...well, lots of miles now with NO maintenance. No leaks, no issues, no nothing. 7psi and reliable as hell.

go to the pics section and i just made a new post. It has a parts list in there.
