bling or no bling i guess that's the question

Post by shane » Fri Nov 19, 2004 9:26 am

hey what's up guy's i was just wondering how many people here like the bling and how many like the clean look. i've notice that quite a few like the clean look.

i myself starting out liking the bling aspect but more and more i'm really liking the clean look, it just talks to me for some reason.

also right now i have a evoIII rally bumper on my 2k neon and i want to put a stock bumper back on. so my question there is which do you guy's prefer the normal 2k bumper the round one (of cours i could do some work to it and make it look almost like the kamanari viper bumper) or do you prefer the looks of the R/T bumper?

thank you for your input.

R/T bumper owns on regular bumpers. bling is nice to some extent, if it's tasteful. i used to be all into big wings, gawdy body kits, bright lights and flashy colors.. now i want a simple, but eyecatching neon.....

I'm for total, anti-rice, non-attention getting, bone stock looking. Even underhood: my cai is semigloss black, MSD coil semigloss black, and the MSD wires are covered in black wiring cover. My Magnaflow muffler is tucked under the bumper cover, a little higher than the stock muffler, painted flat black. The body is de-badged. The only non-stock visable item is the chrome exhaust tip, and it's very low key. If I want to race, I'll let you know, not every cop or wanna-be. Stealth is my goal.

i'm incline to agree with you guys i have an aliminum wing on the back of my neon and with that bumper i have i'm ushamed to say it but it looks rice and it make's me sick to look at what i did to my neon. but luckly i can rectify my mistake's buy just replacing the bumper and the trunk deck lid. as for the exhaust i have the SRT-4 exhaust system from the cat back so the only thing that really shows is the tips.

but i'm taking it that the R/T bumper is the way to go????

i appreciate everyone's input.

keep'em coming

thanks

bling or clean? well, depends on the car, but on neons, clean is best. round or r/t bumper? r/t hands down.

The 2k1-2k2 R/T front is by far the best looking front from any Neon. The bubble bumper, the 1st gen bumper, and my Caravan front just don't look as nice.

i tink i'm gonna keep my bubble bumper.. i don't liek to follow fads... that's kinda why i painted my hood and trunk black, in stead of staying white when i shaved the brake light on the trunk.. but now everyone (well not EVERY one) is going 2 tone.. i'm kinda mad about that...

R/T bumpers are the shit, I finally decided on no R/T sideskirts for my car. The body is done for me.

thanks all for the imput. i ordered the R/T bumper friday so it should be here wensday. went to my body man he got me one for $50.00 it's an aftermarket piece but still i thought a damn good price. the only thing i'm gonna make different with this bumper is i have side markers on my fenders so i'm gonna fill in the bumper were the marker light's would go. then i'll just need a new trunk lid and that should pretty much finish the out side appearence.

you are going to love the looks of the R/T front bumper
and $50 , that seems really cheap
get the R/T sideskirts as well complete the looks ; ask your body man on where they could be found at ?

well some carolina company make's the bumper.

got the bumper not the R/T bumper :x. we looked in there catalog to make sure it had the right order number and come to find out that the order numbers are the same for buth the R/T and regular bumper so i'll find out today what's going on but if they say that's the only bumper they have then i might just wind up keeping it. i really don't want to pay a $100-$200 for the R/T bumper. oh well.

but on a better not i got a new (to me) rear trunk deck lid, from a salvage yard only cost me $37.10 same color as my car to. it's got a few scratchs but i'm sure they can be buffed out.

well the company said they made a printing mistake in the catalog and that they don't have or sell the R/T bumper  . so we checked in the other catalogs that he had and found one but they wanted like $300 for it, i'm just gonna stick with the bubble bumper. besides i agree with neon kid i don't really like to follow fads either so at least this way my car won't draw to much attention from ricer's and the poe poe.
