Water Front Passenger Floorboard

Hey guys,

What is the cause of the water in the front passenger floorboard? The person had the hose that drips with the a/c on, cleaned out. So that is not it. I doubt the trunk is leaking all the way to the very front. I thought there was another source for this near the firewall, am I right? Let me know guys

Same thing happens to me in heavy rains. Im thinking thes the seal near the side view mirrors but its not sure. Next big rain I will tell you for sure.

iirc, there are these little "plug" type things with 4 "hooks" outside the car directly underneath both driver and passanger floorboards. maybe they are pushed in in this person's car and water is entering through there?

i know in my old blue, w/ i had the AC on for a long time, it would build up condensatino on the vents and drip on the floor. I thought my car had a leak the first time it happened

too bad my new car doesnt blow as hard as my last one

Body - Water Leaks to Passenger Front Floor

NUMBER: 23-008-03

GROUP: Body

DATE: Apr. 11, 2003

SUBJECT:
Right Side Cowl Water Leak

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves sealing a right side cowl seam.

MODELS:

2003 PL Neon/SX 2.0

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Water on the right front passenger floor.

DIAGNOSIS:

Run water over the right lower A-pillar with a garden hose. Remove passenger side cowl trim and pull back floor carpet to confirm water leaking into passenger compartment. If water/leak is present, perform the repair procedure.

PARTS REQUIRED:

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Open Hood.

2. Remove the three screws holding the cowl grille/screen on the passenger side of the vehicle.

3. Partially remove hood to cowl seal, at the leading edge of cowl grille/screen.

4. Disengage grille/cowl screen anchor at center of cowl.

5. Rotate the right side cowl grille/screen out of the way of the cowl plenum being careful to not pull cowl grille/screen upper weatherstrip off.

6. Locate the large vertical and horizontal sealer beads near the right outboard cowl grille screen mounting screw attaching point (Fig. 1). The sealer beads are at the junction of the A-pillar, cowl plenum upper and cowl side panel. Apply Mopar Silicone Windshield & Glass Sealer, p/n 04467708, to the outer edge of all existing sealer beads.

7. Allow sealer to set up for 30 minutes. Water test right lower cowl area to verify repair. install passenger side cowl trim.

8. Reverse above procedure to install the cowl grille/screen.

Thanks guys,

It is for a friend with an 04 srt. I know that I had a problem after I installed new speaker wire. I did not have the rubber boot on all teh way that goes between the door. She said that was not it, so I figured i would ask you all. Thanks again.

exactly this happened but on my drivers side and into the back.. was a PITA

is that fix the same for an 02 r/t cause its leaking every heavy rain storm now.

During heavy rains mine comes through the wiper cowl and into the fan then onto the floor..sucks barlz

it ended up being the drain tracks for the sunroof. Thanks for the help though.

now i have this problem ( i dont have a sunroof )

my passenger side is soaked and ive so far verified that its not the drain plug like it was for the driver side

Me too. I havent been able to find a source or way to keep it from happening. It didnt do it for the first 5 years, only last year. Pisses me off.
