New project on it's way....

Post by LowNSlow » Thu Jul 06, 2006 7:39 pm

Well I got a car to replace the teg... it's not as clean (right now) or as fast (right now) but it's MINE... and easy / cheap to fix up..

I got friends who do body work.. and friends who do paint.. so I'll keep you posted on what this beater will turn into..

It's a 1991 CRX SI.... $900 delivered 300 miles to me...

8)

Body work probably starts this weekend or the next.. I'm in between moving outta base housing and moving into a new place... so it might be slow for the first month...

I already ordered the amber turn signals that are missing up front for it..

Not a bad deal. Those are pretty cheap for fixing up and making pretty quick. Good buy, even if it is a honda... n/m your last car was a honda too

A K20 would be nice... but have you priced those out?... they're $5,000 + just for the motor alone...

A B16 or a B18 is far cheaper.. and with boost can be just as fast.

Screw B Series.

You want an engine and drivetrain that will destroy all? It beat the crap outta my car in a much heavier o2 civic.

built K20 from an RSX. 6 speed with a 9k rev limiter. throw a header and an intake on it and run 12's easy....as long as you can drive and have slicks :|

If you want to talk about the K20 pm me. I can talk to you more about it. He has one for sale, built bottom, 3 angle valve job, cams, etc etc.

B series can make some serious power for the buck.....

You can run 12s EASILY with a b series and a bolt on turbo kit on low boost...

My buddy has a ZC motor (stock motor) with a turbo kit and some tuning running high 11s..

with the money spend on a b-series and a turbo kit, it would be the same price as a k-swap and be around the same time in the 1/4th.

K series is expensive dude :|

B series might actually be cheaper, but they K will take you farther. Thats where im gonna end the conversation because i can't get into detail with honda's. Not so knowledeable in that area. All i know is that there is some hopped up B's around here that can't touch me......and my friends K20 type R fuggin schooled me like i was nothing

10,500 for the teg.... not PCSing for another year.. if you're military and you have yet to ship a car to your base... they will ship one vehicle for you as long as you have a year left at your base... if not it'd be around 1500 or so to ship it..

Lots of people are getting CRX's lately. A good friend of mine has one w/ a jdm front end conversion, and is building up a b16 for it. I love hondas, but I could never drive a car that small, no matter how fast it was.

I want an early 90's civic hatch... my bro-in-laws was freaking bad. It had a b16 vtec in it and a few bolt ons and was running low 13's. I think he had (this is from memory) 4-2-1 header, 2.5" (?) catback, cams, chip, cai, and I am sure some other stuff... he and I lined up and he lit it up through 2nd. I laughed the whole way as I stared at his taillights. Damn that thing was fast.

i was about to buy one of these a while back. But changed my mind. Plus where I live we are limited on how many parking spaces we can have.
