I think someone did a how-too on it, I will look and see...

That has some info in there - but basically, heat gun, putty knife, some de-greaser cleaner, and some time.
Good luck!

I dont think Ive seen one question asked so many times since '99 when everyone was asking when the 2 door 2nd gen was going to come out.
Ugh.
Ugh.

I just walked up to my car, and peeled em off. Then used my finger to get the sticky goo off
After that, i washed my car. the ONLY door with a slight problem would be the back driver door. Its slightly faded some and it looks like theres no clearcoat where the sticky stuff was. I figure it just needs to be waxed... doesnt really bother me none, at a distance, you cant even tell.

i just did this today along with a little debadging ... i wasnt careful and went too fast on one section and tore off a nice chunk of paint
now it looks worse than it did with the moldings
would the painting method using rustoleum and a roller work on a small area or would that be preserved for a whole section?
whats the best way to fix a section of paint and not the whole area? i think it's going to look like crap no matter what

Why did you go too fast? You should never rush something like that, especially when it deals with exterior paint.
I was cleaning under the hood today and thought about this thread. I used "Knock'er Loose" and sprayed where the moldings are and started to peel back (slowly!)--sure enough, it was coming off easily. I had to stop though because people came over and I put it back
. I'll do it another day.

No, not rustoleum... I would sand it some, use some primer, some touch up paint, a little clear, and depending on how bad, it should be ok. Someone who is better with paint could chime in and speak up better though.jT wrote:i just did this today along with a little debadging ... i wasnt careful and went too fast on one section and tore off a nice chunk of paint![]()

sand the whole door down and repaint it.....thats the only way u can do it right to where you wont see any fuck ups...you could always buy the touch up paint and do that...it will still be noticeable though
