stock cd player is retarded.

Post by apk2k6 » Tue Jul 11, 2006 11:35 am

My stock cd player has something wrong with it. Sometimes when I turn my car off with a cd in the player it makes this ticking sound. Same as when I start the car, and it takes many tries to get the cd to play. I believe this sound or whatever the cd player is doing creates scratches on my cds as well.

So I was wondering if this is normal when you leave cd's in the player when you turn your car off/on? I'm thinking about getting another cd player off ebay(stock one probably). Which cars had the 4 cd changer? That'd be better than the single changer while keeping the stock look. Thanks

either 02 or 03+ have the 6 disc changer, before that it was the 4 disc changer. its a seperate unit that mounts below the defrost switch. You can use the 4 disc with the 03+ BUT you have to have the adapter wire that dodge sells.

^ i think you got it backwards... the 6 disc changer is a seperate unit, while the 4 disc is integrated.

The 4 disc changer at that time was separate. I have one in my 2000 ES. All the changers in the Neons were separate. Now, in some of the newer cars, you have the integrated changers.

I guess I'll just stick to getting a new stock single disc changer then.

So no one else has experienced this noise or anything??
