Can anyone help me verify this.
Ok I been having issues with my Cat so I had it replaced with a magnaflow cat. Also add in I have a AEM CAI, AF/X UDP, champion plugs and plain old autozone plugwire. Running 15" snowflakes with a P195/60 tires, ATX and about 100k miles It looks like I'm getting I'm now getting about 370 miles to tank highway. I'm basing this off of I put 6 something gallons in drove 200miles and put 6 something gallons back in. An I was just under half a tank. I've been working on getting my car as fuel affective as possable. I wonder what others are getting miles to the tank wise. I was as of last week only getting 300 miles to the tank. I'm finding it hard to beleave that a Cat can make such an increase.

miles per tank means about as much as which red m&m to eat first.
mpg is where it is at. looks like you are getting a little more than 30 mpg. that is pretty good for an auto trans neon. id be happy with it. you could always put a manual in it and jump up to 35 or 36, sometimes 40mpg instantly.
if you were having issues with the cat a new cat would bump up fuel economy.

If you have catalytic conv. problems, you have somethign else wrong - get your car checked, because cats don't just 'go out' unless you have muco miles on the car, but even then... maybe you are running to rich or something, but just get it checked.

I haven't done mpg yet as I forget to write down my mileage. I've been looking at the tank due to the fact I fill my tank round 3 times a week.
Yes its a high flow cat.
things that affect you mpg are air flow in and out of the vechical. meaning intake and exhuast. Wheel and tire size and weight of them. Oil. And how you drive.
The harder you make your engine work the more fuel your going to burn is what it comes down too.

CAI's are good for power but bad for gas mileage. A warm air intake will make the fuel mixture lean out and give you a couple of mph's. Warm air = less fuel. Cold air=more fuel. Also index your spark plugs and try 3oz. of Acetone in your tank when you fill up. Helped my car alot. About 6 mph's.

I dont understand where people are able to jump to 35-40 mpg.....thats FUCKING CRAZY!!!! I have been checking my consuption for about 3 months now. The only time I went above 28-29 is when I went on a road trip and I averaged 32 mpg freeway only at about 72 mph.......City/backcountry I average about 24-28 mpg......It dosnet matter if I shift at 2500 or if I shift at 4000 I get about the same average

^I had the same mileage when I had my stock intake, but when I switched to a K&N drop-in it surged up to 39.9 MPG on a trip I made (with AC on at 70 mph). I don't know for sure what the regular mileage I get is because I'm so lazy, but I'd imagine it's better than before too.
