Ive been doing my research about the number 14 cam . . .
Im thinking about taking the dive and buying one -
Ive got a few questions -
When i replace the cam - should i replace the springs as well ? Ive also noticed that crane carries some decent looking springs and titanium retainers - Just curious if replacing those are Nessecary ?
Also - what cam gear would you all recommend ? I was thinking about the AEM one myself . . . (any comments on that?)
I would probably also get an underdrive pulley and replace it at the same time to free up alittle bit of power

You can use either the crane springs or the magnum springs. There are a lot of people using both without any probs.
You can use just about any cam gear with out problems as long as you follow the torque recommendations. I have had a $90 fidanza cam gear from ebay for over a year without ANY probs.
UDP is always a good idea. If it is going on the 02 in your sig then you may throw a CEL.

yeah, dont worry about the springs - also, you should probably (I know, you only have ~40k miles) change your timing belt. Why? Because in 40k more miles you are supposed to, and why not do it now, while it is off?
Also, make sure you can get that sucker tuned once you get the cam in. If not, it just will not be right. And one more thing, the crane 14 makes peek power above our rev limiter, so maybe a comp 400 would be better, because it is like the 14, but makes its power below the 6750 limit.

As far as tuning it - That was part of the plan - I was going to take it to a local mechanic thats real good to have him tune it up - Unless its something that can be done myself -

I say use the comp 400 for the stock rev limiter. You could adjust the 14 to have peak power in your rev limit but its not going to show the full potential of the cam.
