head gasket

This is the place to ask questions about your engine components like cams, valves, pistons… just anything that is generally "engine" specific. This also includes questions about exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds, piping size, mufflers, ect...

Here a link to the 2000 factory engine service manual....

http://www.ertyu.org/steven_nikkel/neon ... /EPL_9.pdf

I didn't check but would assume all you need to know is in there.

Head to your local Autoparts store, they should have the Haynes or Chilton Service Manual. Thats the easiest way to see how with illistrations and step by step instructions. Should cost you less than $20 or so.

Buy a Chilton's guide and spend the $$ on a copper gasket. It is involved, but not scary crazy to do. I want to do it to mine. :)

You are SO wrong - I laughed out loud though.

Yeah, a chiltons is a must for this, especially if you are asking how too... you should be able to do it, but make sure you read, reread, and read again to make sure you miss nothing, and have everything you need before you start. Once more, make sure you have all you need before you start! :D

:withstupid:

EVERYTHING before you start. Nothing worse than trying to get factory parts on a Sunday evening when you are half cocked on Coors Light from wrenching all day...
