cost to bore?

im wondering can anyone give me a price range on how much it would cost to bore out your piston cylinders?

well, machine shop rate would probably be between $75 and $100/ hour. times a few hours so maybe $300 - $500 total. just a rough guess. look up a machine shop in your area and ask. stuff like that varies with your location.

a shop about 20 miles from me charged me $50 ($10 per cylinder and $10 the clean the block)........polished the crank ($40).......and gave a 3 angle valve job and "swirl polished" the combustion dome on the head (another $35)...........

But to answer your question, just call all the machine shops in ur area and ask em, they can do it in a day

^that sounds insanely cheap.. 35 for a 3-angle valve job? deeeaamn.

the guy that built my motor charged my buddy $175, but thats also hot tanked and balanced the crank.

yeah it was cheap, after all the work I dropped it off to them on a Tuesday afternoon, all the work was done Thursday afternoon but I didn't pick it up till Friday morning. I walked in with $300 just waiting for this huge ass bill and it only said $144!!!!........woot woot, the head look brand damn new, no lie, and the block and crank look good too.................just shop around

can you just bore your cylinders to fit srt 4 pistons? but what rods would you use? would you sitll use srt 4 pistons to?

srt-4 pistons have the same bore as reg neon pistons. the engine just has a longer stroke. I guess srt-4 pistons on neon rods won't work from what I've read.
