SRT rear section...
I have the chance to buy a SRT rear section for $65 shipped. Would this be a good buy? Am I gonna notice any gain with it?? Anybody have any pics of one installed on a non-SRT4. Thanks guys/gals!!

You don't really need a muffler, but it's obnoxiously loud without one. I just used a 20-something inch glasspack to replace the first resonator on the SRT midsection. If you're not going to get the midsection, I'd pull the SXT midsection and get one in there.
$65 is a decent buy for the rear section, but I bought the whole catback for $100 shipped.

These may help.

$65 shipped isn't too bad. They normally go for about $50 without shipping.

i got mine for $25 and have it w/no glasspack and i love it.....but i was raised on open cammed muscle cars so if its not loud i hate it.....it is very loud and raspy w/no muffler but i love it.....if u wanna make a decision just unbolt your stock muffler and drive a few miles like that....thats what it'll sound like w/no glass pack

sounds like a great deal. the exhaust will be obscenely loud w/o a muffler of some sort. my gf (ebsxt) has the srt rear with a 24" cherry bomb and it sounds great. still quite loud tho. most people will suggest a 30+" glasspack, but imo that makes the exhaust too quiet.

When I had my custom exhaust on the r/t(sme as srt-4) I had a 28" thrush glasspack on it. Just place it in the midpipe. I paid only like $25 for it.

The right tip on all of the srt rear's curl up a little bit, i think some people have been able to fix it, but i dont know how. The right tip has melted the bumper and formed its own cutouts. Overall, it was a good buy, I think i paid 50 for mine, picked up.

Midpipe back will work. You will ahve to get a piece from any parts store that will go from 2"-2.25" since you have a 2000.

It's not plug and play on a 2000. We get shafted with a 2" pipe instead. Don't get me wrong, it'll fit. Mine is a 2000, it just involves some cutting and adding an adapter, little less than plug and play that's all. Even midpipe back requires cutting and adapting. Off the stock cat is 2", cut out that drop down and add an adapter and you'll get 2 1/4" all the way back.

i let the tips on my car melt the bumper
eventually, ill pull the rear section off and lightly trim the melted bits off. As far as adjusting how hi/low the right tip hangs, just grab some strong pliars and adjust the hanger on the right side, open it wider to drop it, pinch it to raise it
