new shots

Post by TNK » Fri Aug 04, 2006 12:08 am

couple new shots of the car, took it to the track last night. ran a 16.4 on these cheap ass tires. next week im gonna try my buddy's drag radials. my fog bezels are in. im rockin' the wife's stock tails til my tinted ones get here from Amit (03_SXT), hopefully tomorrow. my prothane racae mount inserts are in as well, and my catchcan that i dont have a pic of right now. oh, and my new N1 muffler is on as well. has a nice tone to it, im happy with it. not too loud but still a nice tone. and i love my angle mount, so don't flame it. dammit.

Looks good man, didnt you have srt-4 wheels though? The ones you have on there now look nice though. I dont mind the muffler it just looks alittle out of place with no cutout.

looks good mang, of course i can appreciate the muffler. some people arent open minded enough to learn to love the "fart cannon" style exhaust, but to each is own right? does it just have a left angle or is it tilted up as well (like mine)? lets have a few better shots of the back so i can see it better!

I love e-blue. I wish I'd gotten my car in that color but it was either an ATX blue car or a Red MTX car, so I chose 'performance' over color.

I think the SRT wheels look better too. And I'm not a huge fan of the exhaust, but maybe it's just because I'm not use to seeing it. Who knows, either way, glad you're happy with it!!

I know you got the tail lights already, put them on the car now! I've never seen my tinted tails on a e-blue car before...

I have to agree about the muffler thing. Works on a honda, or a nissan...but not a neon.

As long as you are happy though :)

did you ever take pics when you had the bronze mesh wheels on it? I wantd to see that :D

exactly how does the brand of car effect how a certain part looks? youre saying that any honda/nissan looks good with a crooked cannister, simply because theyre named "honda" and "nissan"? Sounds like a form of auto-racism to me :) . I personally think a civic hatch looks great with a traditional high flow oval muffler with a nice 2.5" tip. But then again, looks arent everything, and sometimes I think many of you should learn to take performance into account, rather than simply criticising how something looks. A quality cannister style muffler flows incredibly well, and their tone is also very distinct yet refined. I realize many people only cae what their car looks like and not what their exhausts are made of, but sometimes ignorance can become annyoing, and inspire a rant by someone like myself. btw, this is in no way an attack or arguement, just some thoughts and my opinion. like you guys said above, as long as someone is happy, thats all that matters, I fully agree, and apologize if this rant offends anyone in advance. I just feel like it needed to be said.

I've never seen a crooked cannister muffler with only a 2.5" tip... :? They're all 3.5" or larger. Is yours only 2.5"?

Well, it's easier to say it looks like crap because we don't drive your car and we can't say, "Wow, that DOES add 55 HP!" It's just the first thing that we notice.

Im not as ignorant as you think, and yes I know you get extra performance out of your exhaust and thats great. Im not knocking you for that. I just think w/ the way our neons bumpers are designed that it just doesnt flow that well. The reason I said hondas and nissans look good w/ them is the way their bumpers are usually designed looks really nice w/ the exhaust angled like that. Our bumpers are just too curvy for the angled tip to flow like that.

my muffler sits right against the bottom of my bumper. im not cutting it to tuck it up. i dont wanna mess the bumper up and then change exhausts later you know? its set up so i can unclamp it where the stock muffler unclamps, and hten i can either put on the stock muffler or my SRT rearsection.

i have new shots of the new tails and i will try and get some shots of the hood gap and a straighton of the exhaust later this week.

wasnt talking about a cannister. hence "traditional oval muffler". non angled, standard muffler. thats prob what ill end up with next, maybe after the srt swap (if i ever get that done!).

chic- If you look at the rear of my car dead on, the muffler actually flows perfectly with the little 03+ bulge things, not to mention the trunk lid angle. I dont see what u mean; besides it not being in a cutout, id have to say it looks damn near perfect on my neons rear end. all opinions tho, right?

TNK- well said
