center dash Cluster

I was wondering how to remove this=

is it just a couple of snaps and pull it off or is it something complicated. I want to make it the same color as the exterior. help and comments are recomended and appreciated
oh and my car is the dark blue (electric i think)

If anyone could photochop it that would be an added plus!

1.) Use a screwdriver to gently pry the two air vents out. Behind there, there are 2 phillips head screws.
2.) Pull off all the HVAC knobs.
3.) Pull the entire trim piece off.

thank you kindly sir! if you dont mind how excactly do you gently remove the vents?
and why would I need to remove the nobs? i just want the trim? sorry just inquisitive

Pry bewteen the vent and the hole it sits in in the trim.

And the knobs have to come off because the HVAC control sits behind the trim. You don't really have to pull the knobs off, but they'll just come off too when you pull the whole trim piece off.

both of those statments are valid with me... well.. maybe not so much with the new one (yet) but the white car has been apart many times..... and ive gotten pretty fast....

take off the a/c knobs and pull... the whole thing will pop off then you can just pull out the vents from behind... thats what i did... it was cake.. you can even just pull it off as is but the knobs will scatter

i just painted mine... it looked okay til the sun gave it goose bumps.. so i'm just going to try and find another for cheap

how many layers did you do? i put about 6-7 light layers 10-15 minutes apart, and i got anxious and put it on a little early. no bubbles/chips in just under a year! i didn't even clear coat it. weird

4 layers of plastic primer, and pretty much a whole can of metallic paint... and few layers of clear coat... turns out really bubbly.. so i sanded it and put on a whole can of rustoluem... now it has the goose bumps... i did it over 4 days.. drying time was a bitch

yours sounded complex. sanded, primed, and 6 layers of metallic paint [3/4 of a can]. weird all done within 2-3 hours

Meh. I did no sanding no priming. I just cleaned it up real good with alcohol taped off what i didnt want painted and sprayed it with krylon fusion. and almost 9 months or more later and nothing but dust..no paint chips nothing.

Wow that's a lot of painting steps, Bluerocket. I just used two coats of Krylon Fusion as was recommended on this forum, and it worked nicely. It gets really hot out here, and if anything the heat helped cure it stronger.

I painted the center bezel and vents, and the two side vents. Worked like a charm.
