how is this suspension sound

Post by sirvaliant_98 » Wed Dec 08, 2004 4:16 pm

I have a set of dropzone's from howell on the way but thinking about canceling and getting this setup. what do you guys and gals think this will be going on my 2000 neon, and from what i understand the srt-4 suspension stuff will bolt right up.

tokico illumina 5 way struts and either eibach springs or hotchkis springs.

someone correct me if i am wrong, but doesnt just the stock srt-4 struts and springs when put on a non srt-4 neon lower the car a little.?

the perch on the srt4 struts is up higher, so when you put their stock springs on our lower perches, you get a tad lower. ..

its nothing big tho, somthing like 1/2-3/4 inch

jeesh a 1/2 - 3/4 inch drop doesn't seem worth the money that you'd pay for those springs.

just my opinion.

the front springs have a slightly higher rate which is nice: 170 vs. 150lb/in for R/T ACR fronts

100% correct! i had them, and this is what happens..

the set up your talking about would work, and would be a great ride i think, i have a friend doing it come spring. it will however not be all that low, lower then stock with the lowering springs and the srt4 struts... however not as much as you would expect.

and im glad their are people around like louie that know whats going on, to many people just repeat false information. their should be a rule, if you dont know for sure, or have not done it yourself, then dont repeat it. i ended up with the srtf struts because of bad information from a web board.

live and learn..

cheers
