Amplifier Screws?
I just bought a Kenwood KAC 7202 Amp off a friend....but noticed it was missing the right channel screws....I need these two screws....and was wondering if anyone here could help me out....thanks alot!
also....im pretty green to the car audio scene and the whole RMS....total wattage thing gets me. Soo I wanted to know what 6x9 and 6x5 component RMS....or wattage I should look for when I just installed a KENWOOD KDC-MP632U.....that is 50x4 watts. Haha I prolly sound like a complete idiot..but its the only way to learn soo bring on the help...thanks guys

RMS is the amount of power a speaker/sub can handle (and for an amp can deliver) at a constant steady rate... the peak power is what it can handle/produce in bursts
RMS is the most important, peak is just a "for show" number, you can learn to ignore it
the KDC-MP632U is 22w RMS x 4 (50w peak), so pretty much any speaker will handle that.
the amp is 150W x 2 RMS or 460W x 1 RMS bridged.. so you could run 2 subs (1 on each channel) with 150w RMS, or bridge 1 or 2 subs that each can hadle 460W RMS (kinda expensive) --- and maybe someone can chime in on the ohm stuff, i forget if you bridge 2 4ohm subs if it creates 2ohm.. this amp is not rated 2ohm stable
or another thing to do would be to use that amp for rear speakers (like 6x9) and get some good ones that can do 150 RMS then get a second amp for the subs
but if you want to stay with this setup.. any speakers will do running directly off the radio because the rms is low
as for the screws .. use anything that fits (if you got computer screws around those would probably fit) otherwise i'm pretty sure you can pick some up at walmart or any place like that with car audio stuff

as for the screws you can go buy cheap ones or you can do good ones....good ones can be found http://www.amplifierscrews.com/pricingUS.htm there and cheap one can be found at any hardware store or you might want to run by a stereo shop they might be able to help ya out.
as found your CD player running your highs. yes its "enough" power to run regular 6x9s and regular 6.5's. BUT if you want your car to sound really good go with some 6.5 components and and components 6x9s *if you have the money* and run a 4 channel amp on the highs. your CD player wont supply enough power to run components properly. yes the cd player will push the speakers but it will sound like shit. *i had alpine type S components on my alpine cd player for about a week and had to break down and buy a 4 channel cause they sounded so horrible* ok let me throw this in too....once you listen to a good set of components you will never buy a set of coax speakers again.
ok amps....what amp you buy depends on how much money you want to spend, what kind of speakers you have, and how loud you want it to be. like JT said...peak power is just a show off number...the number you need to be looking at is the RMS rating. you can buy a 50watt x 4 *channel* @ 4 ohms amp fairly cheap. and that will sound great and you will enjoy it. when i say cheap i dont mean a walmart special for $50 im saying around $175 or so. when you buy an amp make sure the company that makes the amp is CEA compliany. this basically means your going to get the power you pay for. compair a xplod*non CEA* 1000 watt amp with a JL audio*CEA* 1000 watt amp and you will understand why your spending more money.
ok my head is hurting so tell me if i left anything out.

Alright thanks alot that information was of great help.....soo components over coaxial anyday.....and RMS is the playing factor besides the advertising player called peak power. Soo im planning on getting alpine components all the way around except for prolly kicker tweeter (coaxials) in the dash. I already have a Kenwood KAC 7202 amplifier....and I am planning on using that to push 2 10 inch rockford's in a bandpass box...ported box. Im also getting a Kenwood KAC 7201 amplifer with these specs:
Power Output at 2 Ohms, at 14.4V (1kHz, 0.8% THD): 230 Watts x 2
Power Output at 4 Ohms, at 14.4V (20Hz-20kHz, 0.08% THD): 150 Watts x 2
----To push the speakers.....soo does that sound like a pretty decent plan....what else do I need or did I leave out...thanks alot guys for being patient and taking the time to educajamate me

umm ok so the 7202 for the subs and the 7201 for the highs?
first off the 7201 on the highs wont work because it isnt a 4 channel.
as for the 7202 for the 2 10"s.....i dont know...what kind of RF subs are you getting? details are important man:-p lol but ya tell me the exact 10's your getting and we'll go from there.

for $100 your not going to get much at all.....ya i can find you several subs but for $100 you might just want to go with a single 12". do you already have a box and an amp for the subs?
