K&N in stock airbox (remove or mod snorkel), mag manifold, SRT cat back or cat back of your choice, UDP, PT sway bars, and slightly stiffer springs. That should give you a more nicely balanced car and fun to drive car that's going to be better on fuel too.
After that, unless you're going to seriously race the neon leave the rest along. IMO, save your money. Very rarely if ever (unless it's a classic car) will you get your money back. Best way to do it is not to rush out all at once and buy new stuff, but religiously watch the f/s trade boards and when you see a deal jump on it.

Boo @ the ATX. Go for looks buddy. Lower it, put some nice rims on there. Get a nice sounding exhaust, 60 mm throttle body, and a Cold Air Intake.
Or save it and put a nice down payment on one of those SRT cars.
Ahh you are only 16... Just save your money for a good 2 years and do what I mentioned above.

Yeah I'd say don't spend it on the neon. You're 16, start saving your money now, because soon you'll be out on your own, and wishing you still had that 1200 bucks for rent money, lol.

Just do the basic's for the N/A 2.0, but DONT go overbored....
TAMA has done alot to his car N/A wise, if you have any questions I would contact him....
DO NOT go and buy anything NEW for your N/A motor because of the prices and performance gains suck...
A new $300 cam gets you 4hp, but you can buy a used one for $150...get my drift
Dont spend $300 on a new 60mm, get one used for $150......

wat you mean? tons have done it already....yeah you just get a few codes, but everything still runs good. the codes you get arent really anything to worry about as long as everything is running properly. umm but yeah, start piecing together a turbo setup with the money. you could probably get a almost everyting need for a turbo kit off an srt for around that price...BlackRoseRacing wrote:^^^

I'd put it away and start saving for a house or college. Modding a neon is like tossing money down the toilet, you'll never see a quarter of that money again. You could make a full blown show or sports car, spending 10s of thousands of dollars on it but when you go to sell it you'll be lucky to get 10K out of it
It's sad but it's the truth. As long as you realize that you'll never see the money again, have fun but think long and hard where you want to be in 5 or 10 years. You might be married, have a child on the way and wish you had all that money you spent to buy something like like that house for your family. Sometimes it's best to start now instead of waiting till the last minute and scraping things together to make ends meet. But... in the other hand, look at me... I keep telling myself that, thinking that I spend between 10-20K on my black car where I could have put a downpayment on a house of my own. Though, in one hand as soon as I get another job I know I'll be buying stuff for the white car like coilovers, SSR Type-C RS wheels, probably Stage 3... it's a sickness

I can pass inspections just fine now. I don't have any codes anymore and the only issues I have now is a boost leak and a small creaking noise when I back up... other than that... runs like a champ with no codes or any lights on my custer to tell me somethings wrong
watcha talking bout? I fixed all my codesBlackRoseRacing wrote:But those codes here will fail you at the inspection stationrefect wrote:wat you mean? tons have done it already....yeah you just get a few codes, but everything still runs good. the codes you get arent really anything to worry about as long as everything is running properly. umm but yeah, start piecing together a turbo setup with the money. you could probably get a almost everyting need for a turbo kit off an srt for around that price...BlackRoseRacing wrote:^^^

i agree with jason, try saving up for the future instead of spending all of it now on something you cant make money back on. save up for a house or for college or just to save up incase something happens. I was planning to start saving money for a house or something else but i still havent followed through with that plan yet.

You also changed the main harness of the car to do that
Agreed. I'm 21, got the car when I got my license. Check the garage, I've spent too much, and for what? It's still not that quick, lol. But I still love itBlackRoseRacing wrote:Just do the basic's for the N/A 2.0, but DONT go overbored....
