Drop in filter on CAI
Hey I just bought a CAI and I have my old K&N drop in filter, I was wondering if there's any reason not to use the drop in on my CAI. I really don't feel like buying one of those cone ones.

If you're supose to oil the K&N filter that might be a good reason to switch.. You dont want to have to oil a filter in your fender? Other than that I cant think of any reasons

Just put it on today and it's a welcome change. Although now I have some new noises to get used to heh.
My girlfriend hates the foghorn, and for some reason at a certain point, something sounds like a BOV. I kinda think it's the filter, cause it had a few little bent folds. Oh well iut's pretty cool, I can trick people into thinking my car's turbo'd now

Must be new to the reusable filter scene
ALL K&N's and other reusable filters use a form of oil to saturate the filter element to help trap dirt and other foreign matter. The K&N drop in is escentially the same thing as a cone style filter, actually its the same thing. It CAN be used on the end of a CAI...
When I had my eBay CAI on I had the fog horn as well, hated it! I also had the fake BOV noise as well. Kinda enjoyed it.
