ebay springs...???

Post by supertrick_05 » Fri Aug 11, 2006 11:22 pm

anybody ever heard of these or have them?

I don't know what would be wrong with Ebay springs...like Skunks and all the other cheaper springs. So far I've liked the drop of the Progress springs the best, but I'm just wondering what could be so wrong with Ebay springs?

The first ones are probably made in China and will break in half in 6 days.

Don't get me wrong though, I got my entire Tokico setup on ebay, struts and springs. They turned out fine! Just watch out for the generic names you never heard of, like Tenrai... It might be good though, I guess you gotta try em' to find out.

I'm still itching to get those on. I'm waiting to have a whole day off so I can do it all at once. I figure I should do it now because the car needs an alignment anyway.

I actually just bought those Tenrai springs w/ the 1.5" drop, they'll be arriving Friday evening so I'll be lowering it Friday night.

I'll take some pics, etc.

well i installed the springs, HOLY s*** it's more than 1.5" drop!!

i would say it dropped the front about 2" and the rear around 2.3", i really like how the front gap is, but the rear gap is like almost over-lapping the tire. really leveled out the car nicely, i want the gaps to be even front/rear.

i took some pics but they're on my friends camera so it'll take a day or two to post them.

i don't think its the actual drop that destroys the struts.... i think its the spring rate

i'll get the pics up soon, i'm not sure what i'm going to do, i need to raise the rear a little bit. i'm thinking maybe i'll buy someone's used springs and do a mix'n match job. handling is AMAZING!

actually didn't look bad with the stock setup in the rear and lowered srpings up front ( seemed like it lowered the front, and also lowered the stock rear a bit ) ? i don't know how it would do this..

i was also wondering if the front springs are going to break in and go down any more or if this is just how they are?

The springs actually ride really nice, much nicer than I though they would. The handling is out of this world. I'm really loving them so far. The one thing I do not like about these springs is how my wheel gaps are different. They really level the car out nicely, but I want them the same. I was actually wondering if the 120lbs of bass in the trunk is making the back lower than it should be. I think about a 1" drop in the rear would make it exactly where I want it to be. Does anyone make a 1" drop?

I'm thinking of getting another set of springs to either raise the back to match the front, or drop the front more to match the back.

Let me know what you guys think of the drop and if you have any suggestions on getting the wheel gaps right. Thanks guys -Ryan

I've been putting a lot of thought into this today and here's what I came up with. Instead of buying new springs I was thinking of maybe making spacers for the rear spring setup to raise the rear to the desired height to match the front.

Any ideas guys?

I think the drop looks nice.....The front wheel well is a bit taller than the back one, thats why it doenst look even. Mine is like that too....dropped on coilovers and its dropped evenly, but it looks higher in the front.

thread ressurection!.. wondered how your struts are holding up, and if the springs came with any specs when you bought them.. really like how they drop the car.... did you have to align afterwards?, u know, the usual q?

struts are holding up great, seems like the front settled in a little bit better, everythings still goin great so far. i still haven't gotten an alignment, stock tires aren't an issue tho, kinda just letting thme die slowly - will be getting an allignment before i put the 18's back on.

if you guys are looking for a cheap set of spings i'd recommend these, very happy with them.
