I'd hate making you take your console off again, but any pictures and/or measurements you can make will help me immensely. The only pictures I've seen of the Hurst bushings was with them still in the bag, so I don't know how they look all mounted up. I already ordered more aluminum stock, so I'll have plenty to spin some custom bushings. I will tell you, from feedback that I've gotten, installing these bushings on a shifter equipped with rod brakes, it is like hitting a brick wall when you shift hard .

NiteHawk... what's up man? I'm not gonna be able to get on AIM for at least a few days.

WiTeOuT, got payment. I'll have them at your door before Christmas.

BlackRoseRacing, are you still running that chopped stock shifter?

Bushings are installed.....
Definately a noticable difference for the $$. The shifter seems 100% more solid when shifting no since there is no movement of the shifter base anymore. Such a simple upgrade my 6 year old could do it.
The detailer at work drove my car yesterday and he was actually amazed at the improvement.
Definately thumbs up for a cheap upgrade!!!! :D

Sweet! You're the third person to be running these with just a shortened stock shifter, along with myself and 03sxt (also soon to be quicksilvr as well).

One set left in stock that I can ship before Christmas if anyone's interested.

Yup, that's exactly how I got this idea. I saw this guy selling them well over a year ago and thought it was a neat idea. I personally think that having 8 pieces is cumbersome and unnecessary when you only need 4. Plus, if he CNC-machined these by the batch and they're only alloy 6061, he's raping people at that price. I love his comment about buying plastic bushings too. They'll make the same exact difference that these will, you've just got more of a chance of ripping that outer lip off if you overtorque the nuts.

I definitely didn't come up with this, I just designed it to be extremely simple and cheap for 2GN members. There have been a couple other people that have done this. I'm not selling them to make a killing, nor could I keep up with the demand from the huge SRT-4 crowd out there, so I sell them here. I make these by hand in my spare time on a metal lathe older than God, haha.

Hey SlvrACR, got dimensions for me yet?

WiTeOuT, PM'd you a while ago. Haven't heard back.

Ok cool. Honestly, all I really need is how much space the shifter needs to be held away from the floor. I'm planning on a REALLY basic spacer that's the same diameter as the bushing, but slightly counterbored where it meets the floor to ensure that everything sits perfectly flat when assembled. I gots the materials whenever you're ready.

Cool. The lip will be a little different, plus as I said before, I'll add a counterbore to the bottom. I'll make them for you and we can discuss a price. I've got plenty of aluminum.

They are severely overpriced if he is CNCing them. That guy can probably pop out a set of 8 in under a minute with a CNC lathe. And if you buy aluminum from the right place you can get it for as little as $50 for a 12 foot bar.

Put it this way, I was trying to get $20/ea for my adapters while making them by hand. If my dad had a CNC, I would feel really bad charging $20/ea if the computer was making them.

Sorry Jon had to comment on that one.

SlvrACR, let it be known at this time that is one bad-ass shifter. Just had to say that. I'll be PMing you soon with a rough drawing of what I plan on doing.

Why sorry? I totally agree with you! (read my post immediately following that link). For my bushings, I:

*hand make them
*buy small quantities of aluminum because I don't need much
*include shipping

...and even with those three conditions, I'm still making money while selling them cheaper than anyone. Hell, I thought that other guy's bushings were too expensive even before I knew how to machine. Now I really can't believe it!

dblsg, I should be able to get a set out this week for you. I'll let you know.

SlvrACR, you said the Hurst comes with washers to go on top of the shifter assembly when you put the black bushings underneath it, right? If so, I think I'm all set.
