Broken Into

Post by WiTeOuT » Thu Aug 17, 2006 1:36 am

Well this morning at 8:00 a.m. I walked out to my car (in my apartments parking lot) to find the passenger front window completely shattered and lying in my passenger seat. The wonderful person that did this ripped off my glove box door, tore my dash apart, put rips all in my dash, console, door panel, GEAR KNOB!, pretty much everywhere. Also, totally ripped out my Stereo and cut almost all the wires attached. So of course I called the police, and the fingerprint tech came out....to find nothing...he/she used gloves. So I cleaned all the glass I could find in the neon, and luckily a neighbor is letting me keep it in his garage until Friday morning when I take it in to get it fixed.

There a scratches and rips everywhere in my dash, and I can tell you one thing, GEICO is going to hate me at the end of this, because I will get EVERYTHING in that car replaced even if it has a freggin minor scratch that was'nt there before. So today has been a VERY VERY bad day. IO have spent the last 5 years of keeping my interior looking like show room quality, and anyone who has seen it in person can vouch for that...all while some jerk off messes it all up.

Anyhow, I am giving the serial Number off the Head Unit to the police tomorrow, at which if the scum bag that did this PAWNS it somewhere...they can track it make an arrest.

My solution is this, after the work is done I am quite afraid of it happening again. So I am going to call my apartment's office tomorrow to see about renting a garage, and if that does not pan out...the least I am going to do is get an alarm put on.

I really wish the idiot would have just opened the door so the stock alarm could have gone off, but he/she did everything just leaning over all the broken glass.

Anyhow, thanks for any kind thoughts sent my way...this is $500 MORE out of pocket for my deductible that I needed for my wedding.

Really sorry to hear about this. I don't understand why some people have to mess up someone else's happiness.

 i'm right there with you man... i know the feeling, shit a lot of us do.

if you really wanna go through gayco i wish you luck, cause they weren't doing squat for me when i got into an accident.... that wasn't even my fault.

i say make a list of all the damaged parts and head over to the junkyard. i paid $25 for my lf/rr window. is there any way you can sand and fill and sand again on all the cuts? then paint them all white again.

That does totally suck! Good luck to you in dealing with Geico. I've never had a property loss claim with them (my loss that time the kids spray-painted my car < deductible).

I have had a no-fault PIP claim with them, though. I got checked out for whiplash (doc called it "cervical sprain"), and the doctor wanted to do x-rays "just to be sure." They paid the clinic in a timely manner, too. (I think, though, that they enjoyed using my student discount at the student clinic.)

If I were you, I'd ask Geico to send the gecko :) Sure, nothing but fair compensation would cheer you up, but at least you'd have a good laugh for a minute.

HAHAH....Yeah, one pissed off Neon owner is bad enough....one owner plus thier buddies is terrible!

ANYHOW! Here's today's update.

As you all know from above I was VERY weary about Geico, and them not getting me everything I deserved. Well I got super blessed today and ran into one of the nicest claim adjusters I have ever met. This guy went over my car with me, and after I voiced to him that I was not going to let him screw me over with anything, he ended up not missing a thing. The TOTAL came to about $2,350 damage! They cut me a check for the stereo/install/shifter knob/and window TINT!

So they are replacing the center console, which had only a minor minor half inch scratch so thats great! Also they are replacing the passenger air bag cover, glove box door, radio bezel, and that whole center dash piece the bezel attaches too.

So all in all there is some light at the end of this dark tunnel. I have already rented a garage at my apartments so this will never happen again at my HOME. Thanks for any thoughts/prayers...you guys/gals rock!

Damn man, that really really sucks! Glad to see they cut you a check though and things are looking up!

*shameless plug haha* Wanna save some cash ;-) I have the main dash piece that goes from one side of the dash, to the other side. Last I saw it was in great condition and I could probably sell it to you for cheaper than you could at the dealer. Would help ya out in keepin some of that money instead of buying a new one at some insane price ;-) lol

YEAH man, lemme know how much you would want for it. I have the Dark Agate color of interior, so if you have the same one in really good condition lemme know. Just hit me up in a PM if you still have it. Thanks man.

So yet another update....

I got the car back and there are of course! a few problems. The NEW door panel that they put on was the right color, but is not the same as my 2000! I never knew there was a difference, but apparently there is. The difference lies in the lines on the door. I would explain it, but it's too late. So that's gotta change. ALSO, geico changed their estimate without telling me after I left the car at the shop, and did not fix 2 items. So I talked to the shop manager and he said that he will make sure everything gets done the right way, but I have to bring it back in tomorrow morning!!

If all of that was not enough, the idiots at the shop that I was dealing with from the head on collision (some of you remember the post) did not do MORE work right. When they put my new front bumper on they did not secure the wires that run underneath there. So they were all hanging down. I tried to manually tuck them until THAT shop gets my car in to fix everything, and it did not work. So the wires must have gotten hung up on something becuase my AC stopped working.

I took it in to goodyear to find out what was wrong and it turns out that the wires were ripped out of the back of my AC compressor!!! So now my AC does not work, my reverse lights are gone! and my Fogs don't work.

So I am oging to get this new shop to pay back my 90 dollars from goodyear, and they are going to get a butt chewing! Thanks for reading...and I will keep you guys updated with my further issues and drama's that seemingly never end.
