Calling All 2gn Forced Induction Kings...

Post by 03neonRT » Sun Aug 20, 2006 6:41 pm

Ok, i've been buying parts for the better part of two months, and i think i finally have everything to make the turbo operational...but i want to be sure! So heres my list of parts, if i dont have it listed, i dont have it, so if anyone see's anything i would need, please let me know...i dont want to start the install and find out i missed some critical component.

SRT-4 Turbo/Manifold/02 Housing
Stock SRT-4 Lines (see pic below)
Manifold Adaptor Plate
Boost Gauge
Oil Pressure Gauge
AEM UEGO Wideband A/F
Gauge Pods
Walboro 255lph
AaronNeon Return Line
SRT-4 Stage 1 Injectors
Chill Factory RRFPR
SRT-4 Intercooler
IC Piping Modded to Fit 2.0 (or so i was told when i bought them, see pic below) w/ Turbo XS BOV
AOBE Mapclamp

Now i'm sticking to 5psi to start, so i'm hoping to not fry my stock clutch that quick, but if i do i plan on getting the PT clutch...
Anyway, thats what i have, please look over my list and tell me if there something i dont have.

And on another note, i'm just wondering if theres anyone in the Northwest Ohio area (or Ohio area in general) that would be willing to help with the install, basically, i just need the help for the fuel aspect of this project because i dont want to screw up something that critical (oh and lets say $100 for anyone who helps, or something like that).

So thanks for looking over this before hand, i appreciate it very much!

Hmmm....
-Vacuum lines
-Fitings for oil return on the oil pan
-Spoolboy mod (Should be the same as the Aaron kit though)

That should do it...

Your going to have to modify your oil lines for them to work on a 2.0. For the oil feed, you should have someone cut off the banjo/restritor and braze on some braided line so you can reach the block with no problems. For the oil return line, you will need either AN fittings or someone to weld a fitting in your oil pan. You will also need some -10 line for the oil drain.

You are going to need lots of vacuum lines and Tee's. You are going to need a way to bypass your stock fuel pressure regulator as well (not sure how that works with aarons return line.)

Also, to run a wideband you really should mount the sensor a couple of feet from the manifold. You could get a catless downpipe and run the sensor where the downstream sensor is (the correct distance). If you need a cat then you can always add one after.

Plan on spending money on random things as well, I cant think of everything off the top of my head.

I ditched all the SRT oil/water lines and made my own. You can get a highpressure braided oil line at the part store for under $20. Take your turbo with and get the right fitting for it.

Also, you need to ditch stage 1 injectors unless your going to controll them with megasquirt. I run 36# accels on a CF rrfpr with a 6:1 gain

The whole HRC turbo kit? Because it costs a lot of money...but i know someone who has extra lines and fittingd from their HRC kit, so i wanted to know if those would work or not with the SRT turbo.

Blow off valve ? Or the srt-4 "Stock surge valve" **SCRATCH THAT - I JUST RELOOKED AT THE PICTURES**

You wanna make sure you have a waste gate

Also - If your wanting to start low at 5 PSI - Youll need a boost controller of some sort

You may also wanna look into getting a bigger TB

ummmm - oh some t-bolt clamps will do wonders in preventing boost leaks (although at 5PSI you probably wont have to worry that much)

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm - Thats all i can think of now - Ill let ya know if any more come to me

ADD: Catch can would be a good thing to invest in as well
ADD: If your wanting to use a CAI on the system - You will either need to modify one for your R/T or buy one for an SRT and modify it or something

ADD: you may wanna look into a beefier fuel rail

And im not to up on the stock R/T computer . . .so im not sure what it will do when you start boosting . . . so you MAY need to look into some type of management system (Roach has a nice setup for sale right now . . .)

wastegate is internal on the exhaust mani... i recommend the megasquirt to really get the most outta that setup. i havve had it up and running for 2 yrs now.. best investment you could do. You will crank up the boost.. it is addictive!!! i know the stick bottom end can handle 5 psi, but the standalone will allow you to tune fuel and spark at will to insure you don't blow up!!!

I did this same instal a year ago... if you need any help, im me.
