Throttle Body?

Post by neonghost79 » Mon Aug 21, 2006 6:44 pm

Hey, Just had a few questions about a 60mm TB? Does this mod make a noticable difference? I have an 02 R/T and would like some help on choosing one and what kind of gains, if any your car has made. Thanks alot!

I havn't gotten one yet but I've heard at a really good mod. Something I noticed by your sig though is that you run in STS. A 60mm TB will throw you out of STS and into Street Mod I believe.

LOL, i didn't even think about AutoX! There is no way I can compete in SM, that class is ruled by WRX and all kinds of turbo beasts!!! Anyway I am doing a SRT4 swap over the winter so......I guess it really dosen't matter.

I have one for sale actually . . .

Im not just saying this cuz i wanna sell mine - But I noticed a difference

I installed mine on my lunch break - you loose just a hair on the low end - But the top end screams . . . especially when the butterflies open up . . .

I highly do not recommend a pully since he owns an 02 R/T.....I would recomend some MMinserts and a Trani insert as well as some buger bushings. Then I would get a Mpx TB.....

Performance wise I think the 60mm and the UDP give about the same, when you have one before the other though you wont notice the difference once the 2 are installed..
As for the misfire thing in an 02 r/t, mine is gone now that I regapped the plugs and cloed it to .35 while using iridiums, I was using a .50 gap....

So what about all the other people that get the code flicker and have thiers gapped at .35 as well....I think that something that difficult to install would not be worth my time if my cel is gonna constantly flicker That is just me

I didn't really notice much of a gain when I had mine on. Having said that, I didn't have and supporting mods to make use of it. If your engine was modified to the point where you actually needed more air, I'm sure the 60mm would make a huge gain. But for a moderatly stock Neon, I really didn't notice much, if anything.

They sure look cool though 8)
