Alarm Issues...

Post by MrPinkles » Sat Sep 02, 2006 4:09 pm

Been having some issues with my factory alarm. after doing some searches I didnt really turn up any useful results, wanted to post and see if anyone else has dealt with this :)

anywhere between 10 to 30 minutes after I arm my alarm (lock doors) the 3 or 4 beep warning will go off. also after the initial warning it will happen again 2 or 3 more times at about 10 minute intervals. doesnt matter if i've drove the car or not. also, nothing touches the car to set it off.

nothing is broken its just really annoying.

I've already done some initial research, another site mentioned it may be the door locks not seating correctly / shorting. I inspected all the door locks and dont see anything apparent. also i dont get any dash warnings about doors being open.

does anyone have any information about where the stock alarm components are located? also, is there a sensitivity sensor on the stock alarm?

any info would be appeciated.

I am still under warranty, if I took it to a dealer would this be covered?

thats something that you should get the dealer to do. it sounds like a malfunction because all that is in the computer. if your still under warranty, have them look at it.

It might be too sensitive, which is why it's chirping even though nothing is causing it to sound.

But yeah if you have it under warranty, there's no harm in bringing it in and having them check it out.

it's fixed!!!

turned the shock sensitivity down all the way and it stopped going off at random. still doesnt take a huge hit to set off the warning either.

come to find out it isnt a factory alarm... installed by the dealer at least
