OHES NOES

Post by ChrisRT » Tue Sep 12, 2006 11:16 am

A new project car.

ebay link here

For those that are lazy, its a 1979 Plymouth Volare RoadRunner.

360/Auto.

It should be a really fun car with a little TLC and some swap meet finds. I've already got a plethora of SBM stuff to fit it. Not to mention, I've got a friend of mine sending me his 78 Volare RR from TX, so I'll have a parts car as well.

About the only thing I need for it is headers and a good breathing exhaust. I'm in with the local exhaust shop, so I can get the exhaust bent/put together for around 200 bucks, and the headers are only a 100 bucks/pair for that car from Summit.

I might bolt on a set of 1.5 ratio roller rocker arms, just to give it a little more UMPH, and maybe over the winter, swap in a 4spd, 8.75" and some gears, or maybe I'll redo the top end of the engine.

Anywyas, just thought I'd share. Time to update the sig.

2003 Dakota R/T (Toy, going into retirement!)
2001 Neon R/T MSE (Daily driver)
1979 Plymouth Volare RR (new toy)
1978 Plymouth Volare RR (parts/donar car)
1973 Plymouth Gold Duster (Parts car)
1968 Dodge Dart (Parts car)
1966 Plymouth Sport Fury ('vert Summer Cruiser)
1966 Plymouth Barracuda (Father-Son project/For Sale)
I think you got to many toys!

 F-bodies are cool. But I prefer the A-bodies.

Me too, I love A-bodies. Notice 3 of the cars I own are A-bod's ;)

A-bodies are just to expensive/hard to come by anymore, F-bodies are still cheap, just as light, and yeah...

Sweet car man. I've always wanted a 65 Dodge Dart, or a 57-58 Plymouth...mmm. Sweet find!

I use to have a volare road runner with 318 stock but I swapped in a 1971 383 magnum with a built 727 torqueflite tranny turning 3.91 gears was a fun toy

Than you'd probably like to shoot me in the face.

I slept on a deal my friend was cutting me last year.

A factory /6 4spd 65 Dart GT and a 66 Dart parts car, the pair of'em for 800 bucks. Waited around a month to long and he sold'em.

I went and looked at the car last night, its ROCK soild, very little rust in the doors(just starting) and t he rest of the car is solid. Could stand a paint job and stuff, but it starts and runs good, etc.

So, I bought it.
