yes or no on tinting tails

Post by Paralyzer » Fri Sep 15, 2006 2:37 pm

I have been thinking about it and I still haven't decided yet. So I am asking for a little bit of help.

This is what it would look like with them tinted. Let me know what you think and please vote.

I voted yes, but I say leave the white reverse portion untinted.

Just so you guys know, I don't think Paralyzer has a clear 3rd brake light. I am pretty sure it is still the stock red.

Don't tint them out completely, though. Just a nice smoked look like mine.

buy??? you don't buy smokled tail lights, you make em' smoked, all you need is one can of liquid tint, some sandpaper (600-800 grid) sand dem tail real good, put one coat of tint on them and if you want you can put some clear coat on them, and they are gonna come out real good and not too dark.03_sxt i understand that you wanna make some easy money but i'm sorry, it's just too easy to do.

Trust me, easier said than done. It's not exactly easy money, it takes me a lot of time to get a set done that turn out nice and smooth, with a reflective finish.

You can use 500 to 1000 grit sandpaper if you want too, but they aren't going to turn out very smooth. It's just like painting a car, its all about prep work, how you apply the tint and clearcoat, and how you finish them off.

Your car will look great with a set tinted tail lights though, just make sure you mask off the reverse light, it will look really nice. Please, don't tint them too dark, no one will be able to see you brake...
