If they're custom, it's not technically "stock." You also meant to say "their" and not "they're."
Just messin' with ya
.
Anyway, there's a couple of guys here who tinted part of the stock tails (which I think looks great) but other than that i don't know many custom stock tails off the top of my head. You can't really do much while maintaining its stock look.
Sorry I didn't contribute to the thread. I'm bored at work.

I took the light housing apart and tinted the inside of the lense. It was kind of tedious, but well worth it in my opinion. You just have to be very very careful not to chip the lense when you're prying it off. I heated mine in the oven at the lowest temp the oven would set to for about 2-3 minutes to get the adhesive to soften up. A heat gun works too, but again, you have to be careful not to melt anything.
Tinting the outside can look good also, but you really have to clear coat it after the tint, or the finish is kind of dull.

Here is a picture of some VHT tint and about 3 coats and 4 coats of clear. VERY dark in the daytime, but can see well at night!

Heres my export tails, where I tinted the amber turn signal portion.

And here are my stock US tails, where I used clear red tint and tinted the reverse light red.

Oooooooohhh.... that all red looks hawt! I would love to do that to me car  What did you use? /threadjack
also, I used duplicolor clear, scneonchic... I also sanded it with 2k grit between coats of clear and paint. I do not like the look on my car because there was some run off, and even though it was smooth, there was swirls.
