u mean to put a CAI on? yeah u can completly remove it and the resonator in the fender well. the sensor does nothing u can just zippy tie it in the nearest location if u are just going to put a filter on the throttle body but if u get a cai there is a hole for the sensor.

actually, the sensor is an ambient air temp sensor, and it does indeed have a purpose. whoever said that this sensor does nothing is full of shit. sure, its not exactly the most important sensor, but i wouldnt be surprised if removing it resulted in a slight loss in gas mileage and perhaps even a minor loss in power and response.

as for the first question, removing the airbox wont hurt anything as long as u replace the intake system with something that has bungs for the sensor and vaccum hose. oh and an air filter would be a wise choice as well 8) . are u talking about simply dumping the stock airbox and resonator, or do u plan to install a CAI or something?

eventually i'm going to get a cai , and i already took the resonator out, should i just leave my airbox in with the lid on? or take it out and put the filter on the throttle body?

Id just leave it in with the lid on until you get a CAI.
