This is the way I've always looked at it... Yes, it is nice to go fast. Eventually my car WILL be show and go... but not right now.702Neon wrote:ok all you show before go guys tell me.....you'd rather have a 3000 dollar show with all the bells and whistles or an srt swap ( if ur not srt) ?????
fuck the looks i'd rather go for a stock look but leave you eating my dust at the light.
(I was going to go turbo over the winter... but things have come up, and there's no way in hell I can afford it now)
I'd rather spend the $3000 in looks, so that my car isn't just another neon driving down the road. I like to turn heads personally. That, and I HATE the look of stock... I hate blending in with all the other cars.
That, and all I need is to go fast as hell past a cop one of these days.
I've had my fair share of racing, and it is fun as hell, but going slow and looking good will keep me alive longer.

^^ cop out for most Neon owners that have realized that their car is slow and will most likely always be.TNK wrote:in the words of (sic) on .org and NSA:

Wow, I must be a weirdo. I've always built my cars for ME.

^ i'd have to see your girlfriend first before i can react to that comment
I'm also on the boat that is for show more then go. If all your interested in racing people at red lights, then i feel sorry for you and all the innocent people you put at risk of killing.
Racing through the streets get a lot more negative attention the positive. I built my car to the style that i wanted, but that doesn't mean I didn't do it for attention. And i get a lot more positive attention when driving conservitively then if lived "a quarter mile at a time"
TNK summed it up pretty well, id rather have a chick get wet over my car then give dude a hard on.

Cheap shot, but even I laughed at that onesullygully wrote:^ i'd have to see your girlfriend first before i can react to that comment
That's why you think people make their cars fast?! Damn dude. The owner of this forum has an SRT-swapped Neon that looks nearly stock from the outside (at least in the most recent picture I saw of it). Does that mean he drives like an ass?? Go ask him. Also, I'm sure you'll just dismiss the fact that I've never once raced anyone at a red light.sullygully wrote:If all your interested in racing people at red lights, then i feel sorry for you and all the innocent people you put at risk of killing.
Absolutely the truth, as well it should get negative attention. A friend of mine in high school lost her life in broad daylight at an estimated 110mph. Trust me, I know street racing is bad.sullygully wrote:Racing through the streets get a lot more negative attention the positive.
Difference of opinions. Difference of goals. Nothing wrong with yours. Nothing wrong with mine.sullygully wrote:I built my car to the style that i wanted, but that doesn't mean I didn't do it for attention.
Same response here about the street racing.sullygully wrote:And i get a lot more positive attention when driving conservitively then if lived "a quarter mile at a time"
I'm gonna say that the girls would rather look at the guy that bought a used Vette for the same price you bought your Neon for. Again, different goals and opinions. Everybody's got them and there's nothing wrong with any of them.sullygully wrote:TNK summed it up pretty well, id rather have a chick get wet over my car then give dude a hard on.
Maybe its age. Maybe it's demographics. Maybe it's culture. I don't hate the whole show-before-go thing, I just personally don't understand it. I don't know if I'm wasting my time trying to level with you, but all I did was voice my opinion, just like everybody else in this entire thread. If that offended you, then I apologize.

^ no offence taken dude. I actually was a little vauge with my statement. Only the first paragraph that i wrote was in response to yours. I know it was a low ball, but it was ment for laughs.
The rest of my babbling was in responce to 702neons's post, which i should have quoted. Sorry for any confusion.
As for saying that girls would like used vettes over my customized neon, that would definetly come down to demographics. And i think i fall in the right category

Could be worse. It could turn into a huge "omg that's so rice. omg i know everything" thread like the... ahem... "other" dot org. I appreciate people's opinions on here and it seems like this is the only damn forum where once something's discussed, it's done.TNK wrote:welcome to 2gn.org... you MUST be new here....

Easy, you are talking about me, the thread starter, it's my car that the widebody kit will be going on, and yes, it's rediculously slow.timplett wrote:Or any forum. No thread ever stays on its original topic for long. But I would sure like to see some finished pics of that widebody kit instead of reading all these posers talking about ricing their cars so they look like a $40 000 POS that my little brother could outrun on his bike.
