Post by lvlistchif » Thu Sep 28, 2006 11:02 am

all the lines that come off a turbo are the coolant in coolant out, oil in oil out? what are all the others off the stock turbo?

not to high jack the thread (sorry),,,

But where would you guys recommend I tap into the engine for an oil supply and coolant supply and return for a turbo? this would be going on a stock 2.0 soch.

I don't know where everyone with the 2.0 taps for supply but tap the oil pan for the return. :D

If there's only two, it will be oil in and out.

To get oil flow out you could use a run tee off of the oil pressure port on the block, then mount the oil pressure sender off of the tee. Typically for oil return most people just drill a hole in the oil pan and install a fitting for the drain.

As for coolant a tee off of each of the heater core lines is the easiest.

No way bro. If you try and feed a turbo from that tiney ass port its going to starve the turbo of oil and there goes your turbo.

Well apparantly bro, the port on the engine block for the oil sender is 3/8 NPT. I thought it was maybe 1/8 or 1/4, but apparantly it's much larger. I'm sure you could agree 3/8 pipe is more than enough to feed a turbo. Hell, 1/4 pipe is more than enough to supply a turbo.

Hmm shit looks way smaller from the bottom of the car....well then yeah I can see that. Make sure you add an oil pressure guage though, I wouldn't trust the stock pump to handle the extra strain for too long anyways.
