A battery will not charge in a half hour, let it charge overnight and if it doesn't work in the morning then you know its not the battery. If the teeth aren't lined up you would usually hear a grinding noise. If you hear a ticking noise then its a battery. Hope that helps man. :?

tap the brown wire leading to the starter, then run a lead from that to the pos post on the starter. This will bypass the entire wiring and manually kick it...see if that does work.
If it does, then start checking your wiring connections, grounds etc...

i got a tickking noise today. went to auto zone and got battery tested they said it was ok. ok so i unistalled the starter and tryed to start the car so i can see if it spins. well it dosnt seems like im not getting power to the starter??????

i did not do the nutral safty switch on the clutch pedals so idk if that would effect it?

also i dont know if the 02 pcm is doing it because the tcm is not connected to the tranny.

or possibly theres a bad wire going to the starter. what do you think?

You need to figure out the wiring for the neutral safety switch then. Thats possibly causing you not to be able to start it....

i didnt think that would be it beacuse you know on the atx shifter it has that metal line, that if its tight it wount alow it to start but if its in the park position it will. it connects to the shifter. but its lose now with no slack so i didnt think that would be it.

Just finished my swap, the rev limiter is at 4k cuz the ECU thinks the atx is in neutral/park but I'm working on that and have posted about it in the neons.org.

Now as far as your car not starting, I cannot believe no-one has said this yet, here is the solution.

Take that 3 pin plug that cam off of your atx cut the middle wire, strip it, get a separate bit of wire and attach it to the part you cut. Now ground that wire, preferably to the grounding wire right in front of you on the chassis, to the right of the grille and left of the headlight.

Now start your car.

(That wire needs to be grounded for the starter to get it's juice.)

Have fun and if you find a fix for the low rev limiter before me, let me know please.

Also have fun with that damn wire that prevents you from removing the key. Squeeze the white part and the plastic part where the springs starts, to release your key.

what 3 pin plug are you talking about? 1 of the speed sensors? or 1 of the tcm plugs?

couldnt you just cut that wire that prevents you from removing the key>

Don't you have two circular plugs that you pulled off the old tranny that are near your ecu?

One will be two wires (reverse light), and the other is three.

its till dosnt wanna start!!!!!!!.

i have it jacked up kinda high and my oil light, fuel light are on dont kno if that would cause anything??????

also i have 3 codes a 0123 0508 and a 1198 i think but none of then would cause the enigne to start that i kno of.

also my m.i.l is blinking but im thinking thats because it can communicate with the tcm but i doubt that would stop it from starting.

it sounds like somthing dose spin like the flywheel but it just dosnt start could i not be getting fuel? or maybe the oils all at the back of the pan might be stopping it ????????????

it is turnning tho

http://www.stratusphere.net/forums/forums.html

I've sent people to the above site before that have issues with trani swaps. There are a few articles(did not find them this morning) on other people with stratus's that go from a 4speed ATX to a MTX and what they did to overcome issues that you are having.
Try to search that site and see if that might help you....

couldnt find to much there. my coil pack isnt even getting power.
i have come to the conclusion that 02-up neons cannot do a mtx swap and keep the atx pcm. i think it has to do with the tcm. im saving up for ms...that should solve this problem.
