Come on Jason, you know they dont have RHD cars in Germany. Theyre all LHD like here. Germany is not an English common wealth country.

why wouldn't a RHD car cut it in the U.S.? you can bring a RHD Skyline in and that's okay...why not a neon?

getting it registered, and insured and here at all would be the problem. Would probably end up costing you more than the car :?

maybe i'm missing something not being from the states but why would it cost any more than a neon made for, and sold in, the continental united states? so what if it's imported from another country. as long as it passes saftey according to whatever government body regulates automobiles there, her in ontatio it's the Department of Transportation, what's the issue? not trying to be argumentative or anything...i just don't understand why a RHD neon would be any more to insure than a LHD neon. it's not as though being RHD makes it any faster or more dangerous than a LHD neon for crying out loud...you're just driving on the opposite side of the car.

I've driven quite a few RHD jeeps... and damn is it fun!
I don't think you can honestly have a street legal RHD car here in the states. I'm not 100% positive, but pretty damn close.

A local guy here (hes in a club that im friends w/ a few of the others that are in it) just got a leagalized RHD skyline r33 gtr in mint condition w/ low miles. I know it took him a long time to get it all worked out, and wasnt cheap.

I remember seeing a RHD Ford Escort in the early 80's (before there was a domestic Escort). The owner told me that he had purchased it in England and brought it to the US when he moved back here so a private import can be done. I imagine that an imported Neon would have to pass US safety and emissions standards in the registration process (even though BUX Neons were built at Belvidere, they were equipped for markets with standards that are different from the US).

the only way you can register a RHD car in the states is when you register it as a SHOW CAR. you can race it on the track and all that but you won't be able to drive it on the streets. i'd rather buy a skyline r33 and bring it to UK and drive it there with no problem. especially since my cousin lives there and i'm planing to move there in the few years. i think i should start collecting money for that skyline.

Are you sure? I know someone who has driven a RHD Rolls-Royce (from the 1960's) for a client here in Indianapolis as recently as the early 90's.
