my friend's 2k1

i "stole" my friend's 2k1 SE. it is the special one withthe R/T wing and wheels, and the Trac control, sunroof, and cd changer.

well, i got it out of the parkign lot and onto the street, pushed on the gas, about half throttle.. and the car startied lurching and stuttering not wanting to accelerate. it was weird. i went back and asked her abotu it, adn she said it does it when the heat is oni full blast. well i took it again, and i turned the heater off.. still did it. it was weird. then i ran a code chekc and came up with P 1684 and P 0420. any idea of what's causing this problem.. or what these codes are?

P0420 1/1 Catalytic Converter Efficiency Catalyst 1/1 efficiency below required level.
P1684 Battery Disconnected in the last 50 Starts The battery has been disconnected within the last 50 starts.

thaks. coudl the cat be what is causing the stuttering? and what does "Efficiency Catalyst 1/1 efficiency below required level. " mean?
