ROCK AND ROLL! Hah, I'm an older music lover. Anything like ACDC (don't tell me they're metal) all the way to The Strokes and everything in between.
Speaking of The Strokes, I just saw them last night and sheeeeeit, they put on an amazing show. I was in the front row of the pit.
But don't get me wrong, my roots are deep in punk rock and folk. (I know, odd combination huh?)

I prefer Emo and Punk.
Wait, no I don't. I like punk, rock, punk rock, old rock, new rock, neo rock, alt rock, unalt rock... well, just about anything that has a guitar, bass, and a drummer... as long as the lyrics are good, I am ok with about anything.

I'm more of an Alternative Rock music lover myself but just as well I also like some Metal rock from Slipknot, NIN, Korn, Papa Roach... things of that sort. I also like some hip-hop... not big on country, in fact I really can't stand it. I like techno or house music but don't listen to it all too much. Don't really have a favorite band as there are quite a few that I like and it almost seems to vary from week to week.

I've been into death metal lately. Especailly Tech/Melodic stuff like Nile, Psycroptic, and Vehemence. There's only really a few metalcore bands I like. Between the Buried and Me, In Flames, and From Autumn to Ashes come to mind. Most metalcore, to me, is unlistenable. My favoirite bands, in no particular order are: Smashing Pumpkins, Opeth, Thrice, Between the Buried and Me, and Nile. I've also been listening to a lot of SikTh, Iron Maiden, and Social Distortion lately.
I like to mix it up.

Psychedelic weirdness from the 60's. Alice Cooper. The Beatles and the Monkees. Oh, I almost forgot... Canadian country. I like to listen to stuff that makes people scratch their heads when we are waiting at stoplights.
