what is the deal with people saying stuff like 56k will die? what does that mean? just wondering

If there's huge pictures in a thread it will take forever for them to load the page. It's to warn them that they shouldn't bother trying.

56k is the typical speed of a dialup connection. I think there was a poll and pretty much everyone had broadband...

I thought we agreed to not put up 56k warnings anymore cause almost nobody has it.

I dont put the warning anymore... if you have 56k, you should suffer the consequences of randomly hitting topics.

I started it to so as to avoid having these warnings posted
