Sentry Key System??? If you unplug the module will the car

Doing a SRT-4 Motor swap into your Neon, maybe even a 2.4... have questions about it, what you'll need or what issues you'll run into? Answers can be found in here.

Sentry Key System??? If you unplug the module will the car

Post by dave09092 » Thu Oct 12, 2006 7:21 pm

Can someone with the sentry key system disconnect the skim module and try to start the car? Please let us know if the car starts. I'm sorry about this newbie question.

Regards,
Dave

If I grab some time tomorrow or Sunday I'll try to give it a shot.

Tried it eariler today, unplugged it, ran for 2 sec... died and the red security light came on in the dash since it was unplugged. Sorry... no go and I'm running a stock PCM and matching SKIM module. After I plugged it back in the car fired right up.

That makes sense. When I had my remote start installed, it wouldn't work until we realized I had the Sentry key, and that cost me a few extra bucks.

Just a question, but wy did you need to know this? Not ripping or anything, just curious.

Dang! That confirms it. A used computer wont work without the matching skim module. I was told that it might but I can see now it definitely wont work. Thank you Diablo0!
