I wanna remove my ac all together for weight reduction and to free up a lil power i am woundering how you keep the check engine light come on? I had the wire to the a/c come off before and the light came right on and in berks county anykinda light on and you are not passin inspection. Also what size belt would i need I wannna keep my power stearing so i'm not sure what size belt i would need..... thanks for any help

CEL should not come on whith the A/C compressor disconnected :?

Would I gain any power with teh AC removed? Excluding weight loss?

You may gain a couple more horspower. Because there is less stress on the belt to turn everything. Another way around this though is to buy a really good underdrive pulley. I beleive what i said is correct, someone can correct me if im wrong.

what is the belt number if you take out your ac? I tried looking up an acr at advance auto, and getting the belt number that way, but the only one they show is for an acr w/ ac.
