Looks like you sprayed it on too heavy, and too cold.

Yeah looks like you did too heavy of coats. You always want to go light even coats, even if it means several of them, it will most likely always turn out better in the end.

It also looks like you were just going in one direction and too close to the surface, I generally go horizontally and vertically in light even coats. And don't get too close, you'll end up getting a fish-eye affect and alot of spots of excess paint.

Painting can be hard. But it's fun once you get the hang of it.

If you do get any runs or fish eyes though you can usually wetsand them off and polish them with some polishing compound.

Nightshades is very popular, so I wouldn't think that's the problem - However, where did you get the can? How old is it? Did you just buy it recently? Has the can froze before, maybe?

There are a lot of factors that can affect how the paint turns out. And it's actually pretty precious, however gay that sounds.

Just get yourself some paint thinner and remove what you sprayed... That usually works. Then figure out what you did wrong and try again. I'd buy another can (from somewhere different) and try it again... It doesn't usually look like that.

i already removed the paint from the taillights with paint thinner but thank you for the suggestion. I guess I will try again but wont it just happen again because the weather is always cold now?

Well, if you're doing it in temperatures less than 60 degrees, that's probably why it's turning out the way it is... Don't try to do it in cold weather or humid weather... Perfect weather to do it in would be anything between 65 degrees and 80 degrees farenheit with humidity around 45 - 60%. Again, I wouldn't try it in cold weather, you'll most likely end up with the same result. If you need to get these done, maybe try doing them in the basement or somewhere where the fumes won't bother you... Just try to evacuate the fumes by opening a door for a little bit.

Did you shake the can well? Is it old paint? Both can severly effect the outcome.

Wow. If that's just two light coats with you not spraying too close then that's crazy. Because mine we did several (probably like 5 or more) light coats and it came out the dark.

Although everyone's opinions on light coats does differ. Either way, you can always just try it again with all the tips everyone has given you, and better luck next time!

Mine came out fine when I did mine...I agree with everyone else that it was either the temp, too close, or the can was old.

sucks that it didnt work for you :( dont give up though! try again! :)

You want it to be at least 70deg F out, and low humidity.

IMO looks like you didn't shake the can eough. Every time I've seen paint come out like that the mix wasn't thorough enough, or the can wasn't rattled enough.

What everyone said. Plus remember to shake the can forever. Clean the hell out of the lense with rubbing alachol or soap and water. Sand it down with the finest sand paper. Mine turned otu shitty, so I tried again, and they came out shitty, just not AS shitty.

ditto. With as thin as niteshades is, I wouldnt want to dull the surface by sanding it, even with a find grade of paper. Just spraying it on a clean smooth surface in warm weather and very very very light coats, mine have always turned out glass smooth. And without any sanding or polishing.

looks to me like the humidity or cold owned your spray job, just make sure you spray them extremely light coats in a warm area with very low humidity and they'll come out great, throw on a layer of clear, and you're good to go.

lol i regconized the bottle.

I ordered 2 bottles from ModernPerformance, and they were the exactly same thing.

Spray tint my tail lights, 3rd brake light, both corner lense... All came out perfect.

I spray it in a professional paint booth so the humidity and temp were perfect..

I bought a clear coat spray at Autozone to make it shiner...

Will post pics later after my sunday car wash.
