i hate my car *thanx 2gn members*
if it wasnt for the fact that i got forged intenrals for xmas id junk this POS neon tonight.
newest problem: car acts like it has a boost leak. wont go into boost, dosnt blow off. BUT its acting really weird. the car dsont smoke or run too hot, but at idle and while driving it seems to have a REALLY loud idle that it never had before, and it sounds like an exhuast leak, but i cant find on anywhere. also it pops ALOT all the sudden when deceleratng even in 5th at like 1500rpms, its still pops really loudly, and it dosnt seem to be coming from the rear of the exhuast. and i checked for boost leaks and vacumm leaks and found NONE....
so i think maybe my turbo is toast, but its not smoking...so what else could be wrong...can turbos go bad and not smoke and still spin at idle ( i have no intake so i can feel the wheel spinning at idle) im lost and right now the car is pissing me off....

From the little bit of conquest experience I have, I think I can narrow it down for you. Either you have a wastegate problem, possible blown head gasket, or something wrong in that area deffinitely.

Oh, and it could also be a cracked exhaust turbo manifold.

I've never experienced a turbo going bad myself. Sounds more like that's the problem. I'm not much of a help,
But, if everything is louder, something's broken on the outside. You'd probably here rattling if the maniflod was cracked but not nessecarily, plus you'd probably see smoke. Head gasker blown and you should see smoke also, true. Not sure how a wastegate can go bad exactly.

it you hear a loud choppy sould, most likely you have an exhuast leak either at the manifold flange or at the turbo flange. Whats your vacuum readings? Check your oil does it seem watery? Check your spark plugs what color are they? What Gap did you set them at? What gap are they now? Do you have a catch can? How much oil is inside the catch can? Lastly check your codes, anything that is not normally there?
I would post a mod list, but Its too long and i'm way too lazy....

Plugs could be the cause, my friend in his srt could make a care go from screamer to just plain ol shit that needs to be flushed, did you check the gap, make sure you didn't detonate , one sign of this is the electrode on the tip of the spark plug closing more than the initial gap you said it at (like going from .35 to .25). How's the oil? If you're not seeing any boost, check the wastegate the swing valve might be the problem.

do you have any way of check to see what boost you read on the turbo directly. I'm beginning to if your compressor wheel is actually spinning with the turbine wheel and not just rotating on the bearings. Honestly if the wastegate isn't bad then the only other option is to pull the turbo and find out if the bearings or even the wheel shaft is still intact.
