Feeler Thread

Post by racer12306 » Sat Oct 28, 2006 11:44 pm

I have eluded to in another thread that Im going to make something special that is related to the shifter. I have been thinking that some people would also be interested in this part that I'm going to make. So, I have a few questions.

1. Have you ever been dissappointed that the shift knob you want had a threaded mount?

2. Would you prefer painted black or a stainless steel finish in the shift knob area, directly below the knob. It would only be a small bit that would be seen.

3. Would you be willing to cut a few inches off the top of your shifter to allow a nice/cool shift knob to fit?

4. Would you be willing to pay a reasonable price for a part that will allow you to use any threaded shift knob? And possibly any shift knob available? (Id have to work on this question on my own a lot) It would be custom made to the thread size you want.

Let me know.

I could make an adapter with the 1/2-20 thread, no problem.

First things first is I have to make one for myself and get everything sorted out.

I guess I can post up a crude drawing I did in paint. I am also trying to work in a feature that will allow the use of the stock sxt boot.

If you dont want to cut the top of the shifter i believe you can just pull the boot all the way up. Looks a little funny to me but if you like it thats all that really matters.
