Canadian n00b here

Post by tybon » Sun Oct 29, 2006 4:15 pm

Hey I joined this forum recently. I usually hang out at neoncanada.com :) I have a 2000 Neon which I bought brand new 7 years ago. It has about 26,097miles(42,000kms). I don't know much about performance mods. I just like to maintain my car in good condition. Here is a list of things I have changed from stock:

Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler
Yokohama AVID TRZ All-season Tires
K&N Drop-in Air Filter (removed resonator)
Lowered on Progress Springs and Tokico HP's

Here are some pics:

It rides like a go cart! But if you run over something like speed bumps or railroad tracks too fast it will hurt. Fortunately they have a lifetime warranty and the store I got them from will replace the struts from their inventory if they are blown, so I won't have to deal with the warranty procedures.

Wow I just noticed you have the side moldings removed also. Did you do it yourself? If you did, how did that go?

Yep I did that a few weeks ago. I used a heat gun and lots of rubbing and WD-40. It was pretty successful considering they have been on for 7 years. The paint didn't come off or bubble like I have heard from some people. On my driver side door there is a faint stripe but I think that will fade away eventually (maybe by next Summer when it starts to get hot again).

Thanks. It's actually less bouncy than stock. The ride is zippy :) The only downside is when you go on crappy roads which is noticeably less comfortable compared to the stock suspension.
